I've had a rather lengthy and detailed response from IG. If anyone wants to see it by all means leave your email on here and i'll send it to you. Cheers
Only that Eric Schaer has a penchant for Cheval Blanc 1947 St-Emilion! Apart from that - not a bean...…..
I contacted the FCA and received the following reply:
Thanks for your further email about IG and for confirming the full name of the firm as IG Index. I appreciate the time you've taken to send me this information.

When you contact the firm, you can ask them what deadlines they're referring to and whether they consider themselves responsible for obtaining the shares for you. While we're not able to help you resolve your complaint, it would be helpful as part of our supervision of the firm to understand what they consider their role to be in this situation.
I hope this is helpful and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,

I sent an email to them explaining the issue, and asking them to confirm the apparent deadlines they are referring to and whether they consider themselves responsible for obtaining the shares for me (as my broker). I have asked for this deadline a number of times but no one has been able to give me an answer.
A subsequent email reply followed:
I am writing to formally acknowledge receipt of your complaint.
Your complaint will be handled in accordance with our Internal Complaints Procedure and a written reply should be sent to you within 8 weeks of the date on which we received the complaint. I am able to review previous correspondence regarding the account, however if you have any additional information that you would like me to consider as part of my investigation please reply to this email.
I am sorry that you found it necessary to complain and hope that matters can be resolved satisfactorily.

Latest from IG:
"Thanks for your email.
Please note we sent out share certificates to clients who confirmed their details before the stock got de-listed. We will now be able to rematerialize and send the share certificates to you only after we receive further update from the custodian."
I was never contacted asking for confirmation of any such details which I have asked for them to clarify.
Thanks for your email.
Please note we will not be sending out certificates since it took too long to receive the confirmation of details, resulting in deadline being missed.
The deadline was when the stock got removed off CREST. Since the stock is no longer CREST eligible, it cannot be turned into a certificate.

My shares are no longer visible on my IG account, and apparently the deadline has expired so WTF are my shares?
Thanks for your call. As mentioned we have checked for you and I'm afraid we are unable to process any rematerialisation of MySQUAR share. IG holds an omibus account due to the nominee model and when this has passed the deadline, we are not able to process it now.

IG are now saying that they have missed the deadline for getting paper originals - even after calling me to say they would be posting them out. Negligence on their behalf?
I had a call from IG saying that they were sending originals out a few weeks ago. Nothing received so gave them a call. An email shortly followed:
Thanks for your call.
As mentioned over the phone we're having difficulty getting the electronic MySquar shares changed to physical certificates.
Our corporate actions team will email you when we have an update from our broker regarding the next step for share holders.
As of today, still no news so just gave them another call...…
"The guy dealing with mysq is on the phone and will send an email once he is free".
"Its ok, i'll wait"...……..updates to follow
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
More like cheech and chong!
Just got a call from IG. They are sending paper copies of the share certificates in the next week or so. They originally wanted a charge for this but said there isn't one now. Are the brokers now washing their hands?
I just inquired with IG and the cost is GBP 100 to get hold of certificated share certs. Have to send an email to 'transfers@ig.com'. What is the benefit of having the hard copies?
Good stuff petham. Are you able to share the info you passed on to them as a reference. I wonder if it would have more impact if more people bombarded them. I guess there is always panorama lol!
