The chinese will maintain their monopoly regardless, no one else seems interested in manganese.
It will be interesting to see how sp reacts tomorrow.
Q1 results are on www.mincoplc.com. I only had a brief read but there does not seem to be much activity on any of the projects.
A second rns today, 109% increase in indicated gold resource. Should see a considerable increase in sp tomorrow.
Very positive q1 report. Feasability study on schedule for second half of this year and planning permission to be sought for a mine.
Our 2%nsr stake in Dalradian would be our big play in the immediate term. They are due to release details of a feasability study later on this year, and i would expect to see a considerable bounce with this news. In the meantime we are likely to hear from Moate in Ireland, the pennines also, there is a new phase of drilling at lundberg which we should hear from soon. On top of this ,news from the other properties in the buchan region should be in the pipeline and the partnership with Canadian zinc corp looks like it has good potential. There also seems to be a determination to come to a definitive conclusion regarding our xtierra investment, how this will play out is difficult to guage. It has been a slow start to the year but I would expect to hear a lot more over next 2/3 months.
There is an update on www.mincoplc.com, the chinese have decided not to proceed with the woodstock project until the price of emm increases. The buchans project seems to be going well and further results are expected from their soon. A decision on what the immediate future for xtierra is also on the agenda soon. Drilling is to resume at the pennines once they sort out some land issues. The news from woodstock is disappointing but I suppose not unexpected considering how long they seem to have been dragging their heels.
An update on the buchans project is on the canadian zinc coproration website. It looks to be progressing well.
An update is on mincoplc.com. Woodstock on hold for now.
Low cash burn usually means low news flow. Unless there are developments at woodstock, lundberg or the other buchan properties its difficult to see where news is coming from.
Dalmatian currently trading at 70p, they were in the low 30s at Christmas. Minco surely will see a relate soon.
Very promising. I'm looking forward to the feasibility study later this year.
Quite since
Im not sure if the next phase of drilling at the pennines has recommenced yet.
feasability study to be revealed in the second half of this year, if only similar progress could be made on canadian projects we would have a much healthier sp.
According to Canadian zinc corporation forums, Daniels pond and Bobby ponds samples passed the latest DMS tests and are economically viable. The samples from Turks hill were not deemed economically viable. 3/4 of czn mines passed dms tests. There was no further information regarding the next phase of this process.
If I remember correctly, minco have only done drilling at the plymouth deposit in Woodstock, the Hartford North and Hartford South deposits have yet to be explored. My biggest concern about this project is that its geared exclusively to the chinese mining organisations, Im worried it gives them too much influence when it comes to striking a deal.
Minco are looking at ways of reducing the $864m start up cost at present. Such a high figure means minco will never be able to go solo on this project. But with the figures telliz0 mentioned, it is only a matter of time before a bigger mining firm show interest. Dalradian might be our best option for a payday in the immediate term, but Im still of the opinion woodstock is our most valuable asset. It was unfortunate that the chinese economy went into turmoil when it did.
are we likely to hear anything this week
on other boards and confu suggested yesterday, that progress might have been reached on either of the canadian projects after the mining conference in Canada.
