Underfloor heating is the only real way to use heat pumps but that is another reason most can’t afford to install.

Sunak’s speech yesterday slowly the pace of change but still meeting the 2050 target was the first policy from any party in a very long time that I would vote for at the election.

Also acknowledged the shortage of charging stations but no mention of the lack of copper supply in the next few years making a rapid change possible.

But the building needs insulation due to solid walls. That will take cost above the pump price. I know because I’ve checked my house as we are off the gas grid too!

It’s not the cost of the heat pump that is the main problem. It’s the cost of extra insulation and a new radiator system if you live in a building with solid walls. That will cost more than the pump. Grants are needed for older buildings.
