I suppose this will determine what they will pay as they increase their stake. JPR is running at a decent operating profit. If the right deal is done on the discounting the bonds. The company could easily have a valuation at a PE of 10 near £100m (approx £1 per share), not forgetting house broker is a bit more optimistic at £1.60!! It's all dependant on the discount on the debt buy back. CA must have a a better idea than we do as to the discount being offered but if CA are a buyer, so am I. Priced to fail at these levels but you have successful activist fund managers building their stake. It's an easy buy while they are.

Another ridiculously long auction. Why can't they get the book sorted on JPR? Seems getting the buyers and sellers to agree on their opening and closing prices is difficult probably due to large orders in the background. CA want to limit what they are having to pay to up their stake. MMS are doing a good job of keeping a lid on price whilst hoovering stock. I estimate CA need just over 3m more shares to get them to 10% They should be able to do this without paying more than 20p if they're careful. The more investors get wind of what they may be trying to do, the sharper the rise. What's interesting is the number of 3%+ holders if you look back through the notice of holdings RNSs and none of them have made their stock available to CA! IMHO

Gaz, not sure if CA would have been to increase their holding if acting on insider information from the meeting. Im guessing they are aiming to get to 10% and call and EGM, oust directors or call for putting it JPR up for sale.

It is not yet known what Crystal Amber's ambitions for the publisher are, and whether this could include a push for sale. Crystal Amber has a reputation for activist campaigns. It previously pushed Thorntons to put itself up for sale, resulting in the company being bought by Ferrero last year. It was also behind the sale of Pinewood studios, which agreed a £323m deal with a property investor in July.

Crystal Amber fund have increased their holding by 54%, 2 million shares. Looks like they have invested a further £260k Their holding is now worth over £750k. They are very close to the BoD and have met up recently. Nice little RNS, Crystal Amber Fund have added a further 1m shares. Through 4% and 5% thresholds. Nobody other than directors are closer to JPR than CA and if they've just increased their holding by 30%, take notice.

Penny, you're right to point out all the negatives. They have been hammering the business model for years hence the steady decline and current valuation but it doesn't look like the SP can get any lower unless it goes bust. Pension deficit nearly sorted. Company making enough EBIT to consider using it to buy back debt at a discount. Debt pile shrinking, not growing. This isn't a company going to the wall. It's a company which has had to adjust to a changing market. It's been a bit like an ocean going liner and is taking a while to turn around but changes have had the right impact. At these levels it's makes a good short term trade or even and medium to long term investment. There's something for everyone. It was an interesting week and the buying pressure returned late Friday. Don't be surprised to see JPR rise steadily as shares are slowly hoovered up. No silly spikes, just a nice opportunity to jump on a recovery play and jump off when you're bored.

Starting to look a bit tasty again. Stock drying up at these levels.

If a hostile takeover is in the early stages, again JPR BoD wouldn't be aware. With only 105m shares in issue it will only take a 3m shares purchased by a new buyer before a notice of holdings would have to be announced. If it's CA, that is also a massive buy signal. They may be going for 10% so they can call an EGM to oust director(s) Lots of ifs but they're all transformational for the SP

L2 went metal after hours with serious bidding for stock at 15p Someone couldn't get enough of them. They are probably todays buyer who kept taking stock at 13p without getting carried away trying to keep a lid on the fact they want stock. Check out the number of AT trades in the last 10mins, somebody happy to pop stock on the offer at 13p but hoovered up at every opportunity. Bring on tomorrows Gap up and 20p+

It's a difficult one. I'd like to think of they are raising funds at 8p per share that this would be the minimum the new stock would open at. Investors aren't going to pile £3m at 8p to see it open at 4p. I'd like to see it open at a premium to 8p but by how much only the prospectus can give us a clue. New investors are being asked to part with cash at the equivalent of 8p, from Johns post below, he is suggesting this would give an mcap of approx £38m We would need to see Oasis business current and projected figures but those parting with £3m will have done their DD so I presume this is fair value for the new group. Fingers crossed there's a clammer for shares when it relists.

I don't normally set any sell limits at all while sitting on an investment. I just leave them in the account but you're right, I should give the MMs something to work with. 18p should keep them on their toes. :-)it took 2 days to fill the 3.4p order.
