The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I was under the impression that certain experience and size had to be proven to be able to win the supply. I am not sure if enerox fit the bill in this regard but assume rongke do.
Will do a bit more digging around but if I was the buyer I would want something that has been proven to me (uet and rongke) as opposed to something else.
Thanks Alfa.
If the point has been proved with a containerised type battery, that UET have supplied, then why do they require another one for testing purposes from Rongke? Do you know if they work in the same way or is there some form of difference between the two?
Also, based on this, am I correct that BMN would be proposing a Rongke VRFB as UET and IES, and I presume Enerox, would not be able to build such VRFB's anymore?
On reading the below link, to me it seems like the Chinese would be allowed in to the country, (especially considering the last paragraph) so perhaps something is happening. I would hope so as I cannot see Eskom committing to our consortium without a similar battery (to what is being offered) passing a trial.
Once again though, I would have thought that if this had been the case, that the company would have confirmed it, or at least mentioned it on some social media platform.

BBN, if you ever read this board, please come back and post on here again! I for one miss your thoughtful posts and am sure the majority of people do also.
What an excellent read that was, just as they always used to be!
Positive on the production side, however, I am concerned about the below taken from the RNS. As we are now tied with IES and Enerox, I assume that we would be proposing one of these batteries and not a UET / Chinese made UET. Bit if a head scratcher for me.
As previously announced, the UET system at Eskom completed site acceptance testing in May 2019. As UET shifted its strategy to a new, modular VRFB product, it was no longer able to continue monitoring and servicing the system. As a result, UET shut down the system in October 2019 and an agreement was reached among Bushveld, IDC, UET and Range Power Integration Co. Ltd ("RPI"), UET's sister company in China, to supply a replacement system that would be manufactured and maintained by RPI. The RPI battery of similar power and energy capability was delivered in Q1 2020, however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns, first in China and then South Africa, the system is yet to be commissioned.
Milkman - donation given, I hope your friend is able to get the help and support needed.
Pdub - I hope you can stay positive.
Amazing really when we see all this money chucked as Covid, but this terrible disease has gone on for so many years without much real progress.
Libero, I would like to thank you for your efforts.
However, we all know that nothing is going to happen and the sooner we get off this f***ed up market the better.
I’m not going to repeat what I said before but it’s getting tiresome and something really should have been done by now!
This really is becoming nothing short of a joke now!
Bassguy, stay strong. Lets hope our BOD can do what they should be doing for their investors, although my patience is starting to wear a little thin now!
What an excellent RNS. The forward guidance for this year also looks positive (just hope there are no repercussions from Covid that will affect this) but hats off to everyone involved.
Only slight disappointment for me is nothing concrete on JSE as once again, all of the positives are not being reflected in SP whatsoever! Would have liked some more 'meat on the bones' for BE aswell.
I just hope they have more to give as I cannot help but feel frustrated with this pathetic SP price and the progress the company is making.
Merchantbanker - excellent review. Anyone who has any concerns should read this!
