My view having being in and out of this share over the years is that all the permits including the concession renewal in 2022 won't ever be forthcoming, the reason is quite obvious in that the Slovenian government simply doesn't want a foreign company operating there, you can see it very clearly with all the other foreign companies currently having the same problems.
I'm also of the belief that AST were allowed to get this far purely to get them to pay for all the infrastructure in place, then after AST is gone (2022 or before) the JV (who I think is complicit in all this) simply walks in, licences are instantly awarded, all gas extracted and the government gets all the rewards whilst AST if it is still going will buy another concession in say Croatia and will then start the who process again. Slovenia has been a total write off both in time and money.
Of course the licences could all drop any day now but does anyone truly believe that?
