Happy new year to all including all the shadows . Can any of the gurus advise on anadarko petroleum , as they are still profitable at these low prices and are a possible takeover candidate themselves, since the aborted Apache takeover .. Didn't realise I was such a rubbishy karaoke singer after last night , but best fun for ages , highly recommend it for fun ,destressing , Onwards and upwards in 2016.
I would like to be known as a shadow from hence forth , big boys can fight it out for the right to be Cliff or Hank , don't know names of other shadows . Hey just a thought , how about being called , Rolling Stones . Hmmmm Merry Christmas one and all
Merry xmaz to the regulars from one of the lurkers , (horrible word that ) Have an enjoyable festive season Man in the shadows
i expected a drop when they went ex dividend and also very small after ther announced times are tough for insurers ,, seems to be pretty repetitive that.... but price now think is very good time to top up as cant see them going down below 220 but can see them back 265 good return possibly
Hottentot , are you a full time trader / invester ? At moment try and focus on very few shares and get to know their ranges , but following some of your trades with golden , you guys are like bees on flowers at the height of summer.. good luck with your deals , have a nice weekend. ps what is your views on Smithds as i have been reading your post on them and drops in price seem strange considering good growth ,profits etc,,,could it be their debt burden ???
thank you for your reply on esure or aviva board., have been following you guys on here for a while now and am well impressed at the civility, and comradeship shown to one another , good luck one and all on your ventures
good morning to you , as i understand you are going long on aviva at the price you have just got in at ? FTSE seems to be retracing , i assume its jitters over Iraq and repercussions . i am still undecided were to put a lump into ,,, aviva or im erring towards Admiral as i have met Henry Engelhart and he is very very switched on and still has that got get em attitude and has a very strong team methinks, so i feel they may just pip aviva on future growth . do you have views on my guesswork , theories ???
i was under the impression that rates were under pressure, big problem that insurers which they are trying to get to grips with is the personal injury ,scam claims , etc which is much bigger than they think..i work in the accident repair industry.....also investment income from referrals has supposedly stopped ,,investment income since interest rate collapse has reduced ...but number claims has reduced significantly.. so would you put your nest egg in admiral or esure ??
share this , just as im getting ready to offload and buy admiral this creeps up, i change my mind then down it goes in some sort of silly game.... Golden can i ask your advise as i hold you in high esteem share wise , i have a very sizable sum to invest in a solid company with decent divi ...i very much like Admiral ..as they are a very go get em company ..DLG i feel i have missed the boat now....but have in the back of my mind that esure will become a takeover target when insurance in back in favour again.....what say you..or Hottentot or any other wise sages
good morning to you hope you are doing well as i read quite a few of your posts , no explanation about rise , wondering myself ,, thought it may be possibly the reinvestment of dividends as the volumes are so low with this share. quick question for you ,, dividend is shown as 3.7 % approx but people say it has a yield of 7 % confused me ????
to me how the such low sales compared to much much grater buys forces this down almost 3% ????
think ensure is an energy drink , think we should send a couple of crates to directors . totally agree with you ticking up slowly nicely , then boom big drop on no volume ??
many thanks to Goldenshares (great name) Liberalman, Hiyamarra for taking the trouble to respond ,not forgetting Hottentot of coarse. Hiyamarra you really cheered me up with your responce that your retirement is going so well , good for you . you chaps have given some very sensible advise, have to make some adjustments to shares i currently hold ,i am much too heavy in an aim share with too much risk and not get into the get rich quick scenario . Goldenshares you check out oddball companys , what do you think of GLOBO GBO.. has done well so far ???? .
apologies for forgetting you, you get about a lot , as you hold esure as well , i got them as well. Liberalman you are right , havnt given enough info, putting a lump sum into my private pension fund was the worst thing i did when i had the money still worth aprox the same as 17 years ago. so called financial advisors moved it a couple of times at huge costs. so dont trust the buggers. most of my career was spent repairing crashed cars for aviva , admiral , etc etc so made the funds for my investments so thats why i have an affinity to insurers..i also believe that the new technology will make motor insurers more profitable once the cash for crash and personal injury is brought under control. anyway good old aviva doing very well.
Hello to all the respected members on here , Armani , jeremy, goldenshares, optimus and any others i may have forgotten , can i ask for some advise please , comeing to the end of my working career , sold and selling off small buisness and assetts , would like to invest in a safe company but with growth potential , i like direct Line as i feel they are very agresive marketing , not too exposed to floods and storms ,but as RBS sells off balance of shares will that dilute the price ???? also like Aviva , which i already own. and lastly is there any mileage is RSA now they are getting new CEO a bit like Aviva i suppose .. many thanks ,
hello to armani in Bali , our man in bali , ok ,ok bad pun . i own esure shares , for some reason they are climbing well. but like the vw ad guy i sold a large chunk of my aviva shares just before they took off. can someone tell me if they know whats happening with astra zeneca, methinks something big happening .
could be in RSA , good job i got out of RSA at small profit a while back, so in hindsight being in esure isnt as bad as it looks , still think in fullness of time we will slowly get to 3 pound . have a happy and healthy xmas to all. m
way to go, to get to my buy in position , but its a start , still think this is a good starter share with decent dividend. and risk reward element is good. I also hold GKP shares they are turning out to be a nightmare....but you never know , its a big risk, but eventually they may come good
thanks for the encouragement...lets hope thier results are slightly better in november.
