No offence, but it is a merger not an IPO. UK CMA will have no input as future listing will be US, and primary current listings are Irish and US.

Seems to have beaten the broker estimates.

BUT UK and Irish listings will be cancelled, so we may see a price drop initially. RNS give a projected value of over E2 though.

2Daman, you are well informed and clear in your analysis. Personally I think we will either see a nominal dividend announced, say 0.2p, or another pass. Either way many will be dissatisfied, and will sell. The price will correspondingly fall. I am holding here, but would add at a lower level.

Effectively they will get £90m, so not a great deal for PTEC. But it sheds a non-core part of the business, which may in turn render a take over of PTEC more likely. This has been rumoured for a couple of years, and is the aim of certain activist shareholders. This is OK if it leads to greater things!

The issue has to be approved at the meeting on 1 Feb before any offer can be made. I voted against, but will probably take up the offer if it goes through. My holding is small.

Thanks Falling and londoner. Sensible assessment, analysis and tactics all round. I should have been braver at the 300 mark, but will be happy to add again on any weakness. This is for holding, not trading.

First trade this morning was me, and though showing as a 'sell' rather than the 'buy' it was! I hope you are right, Falling; but either way Ithink this will rise in the medium to long term. Happy to hold!

Hello CSDI and adv11. Keeping this relevant, I hope. The divi has been declared, and maintained. Recent article in The Times said equity dividends are unlikely to recover for three or four years, as Covid 19 losses are repaired. This is therefore not a good time to be shopping for income payers, unless you are looking to the medium term returns. Given that, I think we abandoned this too early. Interest rates may remain low, but there will remain a lot of entities, commercial and otherwise, who are distressed enough to be required to pay a higher rate. Great minds think alike, and fools never differ!

Don't overlook the fact they have effectively announced a dividend cut of around 30% by announcing the dividend will have a cover of x2. There will be little upward movement here until sales recover fully and then increase. This will stay static or trade in a narrow range for at least 18 months.
