Link & Woodford Fund.12 Jun 2020 07:03
Becomes obvious why Link held on to Orph [and others].
After all, Link could have sold Orph themselves and achieved a premium.
Link needed Orph [and others] to be part of a pharma portfolio to make the entire package 'make financial sense' for the buyer.
Acacia will be left with shares in illiquid stocks [and a few remaining liquid stocks] having paid an acceptable amount [to them] overall. Link will feel they achieved best price across the board.
I expect Woodford Fund holders will feel they've been let down by Woodford and short-changed by Link.
It was never going to be a good transaction for fund holders.
For Orph holders, the sale on the open market ties up yet another loose end. Link were never longterm investors [tasked with disposal at earliest opportunity]. It was always on the cards, and now it's done and dusted.
