I got some long and short cfds of valterra platinum on IG. longs were in profit but I couldn't close them online. had to call IG to close some but the profits were gone. the explanation was that they were hedged. So, I asked whether I could close some of the shorts as they are hedged but I was told that I will realise the loss. I am unable to understand how this works. will be grateful if anyone can throw some light on this
