Astaire are buying or trying to buy up everyone in sight, should that not be reflected in the share price very soon? Anyone have any opinions on this?
Thank you. Again, sorry for what may sometimes seem like silly questions but I've learned a lot from your posts... atb Ancelotti
What does this mean exactly. Is it good for Astaire that they are "practically a subsidiary". Sorry agin for the ignorance but theres a helluva lot I still dont know... Any reply would be greatly appreciated...
Hello Sir, I was wondering if you felt that there could be a re-trace before any further increase. I haven't noticed any buys or sells of Astair shares for the last couple or so days... Would you mind if I also asked you as to whether the timescale for a revaluation of shares could be days, weeks, months or does it all depend on when the takeover has been finalised? Thanks Ancelotti...
rise so far today.....
Not the best of news but did momentarily did have an adverse affect on the SP when it dipped for a little bit in the morning. It ended the day up though... Astaire (formerly Blue Oar) Securities fined £225,000 for AIM failings Astaire Securities, the stockbroker known as Blue Oar until it changed its name earlier this month, has been fined £225,000 for shirking its responsibilities to an AIM-listed client, reports Reuters. The London Stock Exchange (LSE) picked up Astaire on a series of failings relating to its role as nominated adviser to Worthington Nicholls Group, a support services business whose shares tanked 11 per cent after an accounting investigation in December 2007. The LSE said Astaire failed to adequately assess its client, failed to carry out appropriate due diligence, failed to advise the company regarding its statements and failed to liaise properly with the exchange. Astaire said it “welcomes the fact that this matter has now been brought to a conclusion. The company gave its full co-operation to the exchange during its investigations and has accepted the exchange's findings.”
5% today....
I forgot that it also rose about 2% yesterday....
on Tuesday and another 11.11% today..... Google finance appears to show that this is now at it's 52 weeks high. Admittedly, it only goes back a few days since the name change from Blue Oar but it looks like the buys are creeping in and the market is marking this up accordingly... The sale of it's Australian business is probably helping also as this was a loss making business which they are now rid of leaving them in a better position to "concentrate on it's core operations"... Onwards and upwards, hopefully...
but surely, you will be mine...:)
I know. The spread is a killer too. Not that I am going to sell anyway..I should also email admin about transferring all previous posts from BLUE OAR on to this BB as I am sure that they dont see all the posts. I might just report myself instead so that they see the post LOL. It would be nice for mysterious 12.5% increases on a daily basis though...
The iii board have managed to carry forward all previous posts. Any reason why you can't?
If a name change worked for Reginal Kenneth Dwight, it sure as hell should work for Blue Oar lol...
for Norseman Gold???? I didnt know that... http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices-and-news/news/market-news/market-news-detail.html?announcementId=10065233
What has happened to all the postings for this. Surely, they can be moved acrossfrom the blue oar board so a record of any research posted on here can still be viewed for reference?
is now called Astaire Securities Plc
Cheers for that. However, I was more curious as to what it all meant. My understanding of it maybe is not as good as I would like it to be but, then again I'm still learning. Teaching myself, you see so its going to take some time before I can fully understand everything and learn to read between the lines and stuff... With my limited knowledge of all this, I still cannot understand why the sharholders would actually vote for a dissapplication of the pre-emption rights as this would, I think, mean that they would disadvantage them. Anyway, as I say, I may be reading it all wrong as I'm still a bit wet behind the ears with all this trading m'larkey. Nevertheless, there still could be another takeover at some point if my understanding of it is remotely correct. I mean, they are in a better position now than they were a couple of weeks ago. They've gotten rid of the loss making arm which can only be good can't it!!!
So who bought this then? Still no RNS...
In the offing? I bloody well hope so....
