The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
I have had a couple more small nibbles this morning in my ISA and SIPP. Neither show on the trades list - its been a great few weeks for the OPTI price considering whats been going on in the world. Glad I loaded up when the price was less than half what it is now as well as other prices in between - ISA is now in profit and SIPP not far off. This is feeling good.:)

I think this was a payment to encourage the employees to stay onside given all the uncertainty they have gone through over the last few months and the fact that their shares will also take a big hit
The registrars for Sirius Links Asset Services were there sorting out the admin and counting the votes I believe. I am surprised that the announcement has not been made yet. It would not have taken long to add the votes from the meeting and I would not have thought these would make that much difference to the outcome which they must have known.
Unless it was very close and the proxy vote had made a material difference. I guess we'll find out in the morning. It would not surprise me if the share was suspended depending on how this goes.
For those criticising the line of questioning if you were there you would have seen the board squirm at some of the questions. They were put on the spot but stuck to their line that it's this deal or administration. The journalists have covered the meeting in more detail so have a read and that should give you a good flavour.
There were some comical moments mentioned already and one guy who at least a half-hour before the end of the first meeting kept saying 'can we vote now' and the builder who voted for Priti Patel and was off to talk to the Sunday Times about his idea of suspending the build for a year.
My honest impression was that this would now go through but as it's not yet been announced who knows?
Poll feedback @ 5.30pm Sunday - 1 Mar 20
As has been mentioned, it is quite clear so far from the poll carried out on the two Facebook pages that the majority of retail investors on here are voting ‘against’. Combined summary below. There should be minimal double counting.
215 out of a total 240 responders are voting against (90%). Of these 10 are attending the meeting.
What does this all mean? Who knows but it should be interesting on Tuesday?
Full poll standings so far are below:
How many investors are attending the meeting on Tuesday and are you voting ‘for’ or ‘against’ the resolutions? Please indicate as appropriate below if you are happy to. I am putting this on both FB pages so only vote on one page please. Trying to get a feel for numbers on Tuesday:
No I am not attending but I have voted ‘against’ - 205 votes
I did not vote - 21 votes
Yes I am attending and I am voting ‘against’ - 10 votes
No I am not attending but I have voted ‘for’ - 2 votes
Yes I am attending and I am voting ‘for’ - 1 vote
Don’t care either way - 1 vote
Yes I am attending but I am ‘undecided’ - 0 votes
Total votes cast: - 240 votes
I have added a poll with options below to the Serious Minerals and Sirius Minerals FB pages. There maybe a little double counting but I have requested you only fill in one or other if you access both pages. So far, after around 2 hours, 90 investors have taken part - 85 say they are voting 'against', 2 are voting 'for', and 3 are not voting. If you are a member of either please take part as I think it should be a good indicator. Also gives an idea of how many will be going on Tuesday.

Sirius and Anglo American have missed a huge opportunity by becoming an enemy of the shareholders instead of harnessing the fantastic support they would have had from us in order to sort this mess out. I don't think many companies would have treated the shareholders so badly and have the amount of support, goodwill and continued belief and stubbornness that many have shown and continue to show up until the end.
They have seriously misjudged us and whatever happens next week we are not going anywhere soon. Let's hope we get some journalists coming behind us, showing this for what it is and exposing how poorly we have been treated.
We were not greedy we were sold a dream over many, many years through numerous videos (which have rapidly been deleted for some reason - why?) and presentations (which we still have) until when it came to the potential rewards coming in to view we were stabbed in the back. It's not too late give us a fair offer - do the right thing - you won't get many shareholders more loyal than us.
Just to clarify meeting is on Tuesday 3 March - sorry
Information for those Sirius investors who have not yet received their share certificate or Investor code and who CAN attend the meeting on Monday in person.
Message from Yashmin on ShareSoc forum: They have exercised a managerial exception in this case. Shareholders can now call in and get their investor code from Link Asset Services without their certificate number, which they will need, to vote on the 2nd - along with their ID (passport/driving license, etc.). If you had managed to extract a single share by last Friday from your respective brokers, to have your vote counted as an individual over nominee, you should call them to acquire your code in good time.
I just phoned Link AS myself using the number 0371 664 0321 which I think is the direct Corporate Action number and the code was passed over after explaining the situation and confirming my ID.
You couldn't make it up with regards to timings with Sirius. After all the Brexit issues we now have all this voting happening in the midst of stock market crashes due to the virus. Just hope we are not jinxed and that all turns out well for us - we deserve it. Good luck all!
But presumably you mean at a higher price equivalent than 5.5p per share otherwise you may as well buy in the market. Both are dropping fast at the moment
Ed - I have emailed you again - have u got it
Thanks
Just mailed you again - there were some extra spaces in email address so first one rejected. Let me know you have it.
Cheers
On its way Ed
I was about to add this post to this board having already posted on both FB pages. The link to the video was deleted within minutes - we're being watched.
On 24 Feb I added the text and video link as copied at bottom of this post - the video was produced in 2015 and was about the investment case for the Sirius Project and presumably had sat there for all to see for almost five years. Not long after I uploaded this to both FB pages, the LSE Board and ShareSOC it was removed from youtube and had disappeared entirely. I also added a Proactive Investor video at a similar time, which mentioned Govt guarantees had been given, but this remains in place - not owned by Sirius presumably.
Why did somebody stop us from sharing the video content? Surely if they are removing these they feel uncomfortable with its content, what they said at the time and there is something they want to hide. I believe it was because someone was uncomfortable with the content as it is a classic illustration of why so many investors were attracted to this superb project and don't want to let go.
We have now tracked down the same or very similar 'Investment Case' video and I have added it below. This could be deleted also but we have copies so it will not disappear. A couple of soundbites from the video and I quote :
* From a shareholders point of view, that means that an investment today in developing this mine will ultimately pay for itself many times over into the foreseeable future
* We're building a business here in North Yorkshire which will be able to generate over a billion dollars a year of free cashflow and we can be a high dividend paying, high growth, high cashflow business for well over a hundred years
*Opportunities like that are very, very rare and when you've got it driven by the fundamental demand driver of the need for food for humans around the world it means that its a very attractive proposition for people to get involved in.

Just stumbled across this video - and they wonder why we were taken in - one of many slick videos and presentations to pull us in or reconfirm what we already thought we knew.

Not sure if that’s aimed at me but I have posted same on both FB pages and ShareSoc. A genuine p****d off long term (10 years+) investor
Also take a look at this video and see just after 3 minutes where Chris Fraser talks about the company prequalifying for the government guarantee. No wonder investors were taken in.

Looks like they have - anyone keep a record of them - seems the rumours may have been true
Holland and Barrett in the mail online and the paper today - not about Slimbiome but illegal CBD. Nice to see sales still ticking along steadily

This message was placed on the ShareSoc Sirius Shareholder Group (SSSG) Forum at around midday today (Saturday 1 Feb 20) by one of the Directors of ShareSoc. We have no idea what the response will be and in what detail but hopefully it is a positive step and further illustrates the fact that by coming together at ShareSoc we have at least given ourselves a voice that is listened to and hopefully a possible channel of communication going forward. Message reads as follows:
‘’Sirius phoned me up last night. Nick King, Sirius Company Secretary rang me at 18.15 and said he wanted to give me an update and that they are working hard to respond to our 5 page letter. He said he hoped to be able to send their response last night (it did not arrive) or Monday - the delay is probably because they are considering whether they need to release the info to the market (ie RNS) as well as to SSSG.
I asked (verbally) for an urgent meeting to discuss our suggestions of other options and for communications meetings, etc with PIs who they seem to have completely ignored. I will on behalf of SSSG follow up by email.’’
The more of us that continue to join ShareSoc the stronger our voice becomes. To the sceptics of this group at least register your interest with the SSSG using the link below where you can also detail number of shares you hold (if you still have them).
You can then either apply for free associate membership or better still full membership (£45) that gives you full access to the SSSG Forum and other documentation such as the letter mentioned above and possibly the response to come.
ShareSoc is a voluntary organisation and agreed to create the SSSG to help individual Sirius shareholders to communicate and work together for the best collective outcome and I can confirm that they are working tirelessly to help our cause and have already had much success in raising awareness through the press and that should continue.
My hope is that someone from the local and even National press will publish details of this Group in and this raises awareness further. The problem we have is that many private investors have nominee accounts so may not be engaged or have a voice when it comes to voting etc and this could be crucial.
I personally feel £45 is a small price to pay now whatever the outcome.
