Few quotes :
"ZOO’s target customers are major global operators of streaming services and producers of premium entertainment content and therefore the quality expectations for localisation and media services to fulfil their requirements are the highest in the industry. Here, quality includes the authenticity of a language adaptation of an entertainment product and the extent to which it resonates with an audience that speaks another language and operates within a different culture. At present, while technologies such as ChatGPT may be effective in processing certain genres of media content (such as documentaries, where the commentary may suit a literal translation) or low value catalogues (such as user-generated content or old materials that will be distributed through FAST channels in emerging markets), they are not viable for the type and calibre of content processed by ZOO. However, the Company has since 2020 been actively exploring opportunities to adapt such technologies to provide productivity and other benefits in certain scenarios where such use may be beneficial"
..
"Whilst the standard of these automated dubbing approaches applied to generalised content falls a long way short of the quality requirements of ZOO’s clients, the Board believes that there may be applications of these technologies that can provide some operational benefits to augment and complement the process of dubbing, rather than as a replacement for the creative human efforts that are crucial to the production of authentic language adaptations. Indeed, the Company is actively engaged in several projects to develop capabilities that are applicable to ZOO’s business, including through the exploitation of third-party tools, and where the approach is to augment rather than displace established practices."
...
"In summary, AI is an exciting field of computing that is being developed at pace and holds much potential, including in the field of ZOO’s business. Its successful application in media and entertainment, particularly for premium content, will inevitably be alongside traditional practices and the use of creative talent, and where ZOO’s heritage as an innovator and trusted partner to the leading names in the industry places it well to become a leader in the field. Consequently, the Board regards AI as an opportunity for ZOO’s business rather than a threat"
Just been through the last annual report and latest trading update. Gem find. Its ticking all the right boxes. A good UK Tech company, Global reach touching US, Far east markets, unique technologies, embracing emerging technologies, growing pipeline, and and luckily a low valuation atm. I can only see this going one way. Last april 200 ish and growing, Once in a lifetime writers strike now over, ZOO is returning (and seems like will soon exceed) where it left off last year. Good chance 200+ is on the cards within next FY. After the writers strike there would of been a delay drag of about 4 months on new material coming, its seems like we have entered the full steam ahead stage. There seems to a be a lot of buying during the afternoon sessions as well which could indicate US investor interest , which is not surprising given the big US content/film companies it has contracts with. All IMO. DYOR
Few sporadic transactions after hours (probably delayed orders) one odd one at 18:00 @ 48p when website grabs price, most likely delayed order , but price was 52 at close . See transactions above
Maybe a news this weekend before results week ??
It could be a bid might be coming? External forces pushing price down so the offering looks attractive. I have seen patterns like this before in that scenario. 100% guessing of course.
Now I have to look for a new share...any idea pointers ? :)
Hi sorry i'm a bit new to all this. I have wey shares and some wonderful news. Do i just hold now until company sold ? Then the 47 per share will be transferred to ISA ? Is that the thing to do.
Anyone mentioning the below 15p share price at the moment ?
Ah I missed something... he is paying 60% @ 27p and 40% @ 15p...thats makes more sense..average around 20p
Hmmm....let me see here for sale is a TV for £150 or you can buy the same one for £270 ...I'll take the £270 please! Urrhh...
Isn't the placing 15p ? Not 27p..i am so confused with this posting board.
Business looks strong to ride the COVID storm. All staff relocated to remote working, divi got suspended is excellent, all good progress and decisions. Will hopeful put the stock in a strong position once the current pandemic reduces.
I agree but the market is crashing so it will not follow logic
If you can ride out the volatility I think this will be return ..but its IMO.
I agree, gives me confidence that the company takes health seriously above profit, this will reflect in the minds of Saga customers and give them confidence of returning at a later date. So the current projection it looks like 90-110 million profit.
Carnival's Princess Cruises suspends all cruises
Princess Cruises, which operates two of the ships that became floating quarentine zones after an outbreak of the coronavirus on board, has suspended cruises for all 18 of its vessels over the next two months.
The company, which is owned by Carnival, said the suspension was out of an abundance of caution
What amusing by all this is Saga hasn't reported any cruise cancellations, all seem to be running as normal. Bookings have passed the target for all of this year. They have posted advice on website. No reason at the moment for people to cancel bookings, in fact its appears people are not. Profit target looks like it will be reached 110+ million. Many are focusing on the cruises but the vast majority of income is coming from the insurance which has appeared to turned the corner. Brokers have it at 45p. The only thought I have about why Saga is still dropping seems to be that Saga lags the movements of the market by a week or so. So it could be the trail ends of last week.
Hi
I t was stated in their H-Power EV Charger Launch Presentation page 21

One concern I do have is the running cost per Kwh of around 30p. Seems high to me. Am I reading that correctly? Will that come down ? Any thoughts ?
