1/3 cash at the moment but ready to pull plug on rest quickly. I was a fairly green newbie in 2008 and traded through the drama with bad results lol. The unplugging is a good safest option, but there are opportunities, especially if the initial lurch downward is severe. A slow and gradual bear market is more painful. It may not happen, but the global situation is pretty dire and the markets still very high.

.. this could shape up to be a rough ride into the year end, global markets looking very shaky at the moment.

Groups can be an unhealthy trap in investing

* falls into trap of group think
* lack of critical thought allowed, group will turn on you, conformity forced
* encourages emotional attachment to investment
* clouds individual critical thought and motivation to act against direction of group
* lead posters become gurus ! Rest are sheep
* Groups focus on information often and forget charts, market dynamics and wider picture

Look at BMN.... classic. Have seen many over the years and many bad investing outcomes.

Groups can mislead newbies especially, unintentionally.

I am sure I will get many reasons why it is different for your particular group lol.

And don't forget the backdrop of a rampant gold price!

It is great to hear that the mineral port has not been killed off, but it is not clear from the links as to when it may be practically revived. Until a specific timetable is confirmed, this is on the 'hopeful' lis, imp.

I don't really understand this piecemeal newsflow and lack of detail on timetables generally. Frustrating.

The big question, will we get anything concrete tomorrow? Or will there be more can kicking? At the very least, I think they will need to explain how all the new developments fits into Zioc's future strategy, or not? Especially the railway and the new wharf. Regarding the EPP, I suspect we may just hear...board will meet by year end for a decision yada yada.

It may take until year end before we get meat on the bone? But I would love it to be otherwise..

Looking at maps of existing port, would they be able build a new arm (wharf) out to sea on the 'open' eastern side of the bay? Is so, it could be quite substantial?? Suppose it depends on the depth of the bay?

My personal suspicion is that Glencore may have sunk the new mineral port for now due to lack of commitment to the full stage 1 & 2 project?? Or they could not agree terms for a sell out to the Chinese? Anyway, the whole roadshow rumbles on, what other twists shall be revealed? I wish we knew more about the new wharf, ie detail.

Hold your horses. The new wharf can be value adding to Zioc. BUT we need to know....usage rights, capacity (tpa and draught and size ships), land access (logistics). Too little is known at this point.

So there is no new standalone mineral port yet....my original questioning was thus correct.
