Bassguy - the possibility that the well-timed 500Ks are inter market maker transfers certainly needs to be taken very seriously.

People need to understand that the Market Makers are not paid by the government to assess companies listed on the stock market to produce an SP - they get money purely by making it out of people like you and I.

This means allowing crazy nonsense companies to rise on pure speculation so that punters can be paying way over the odds - they then sell these apples whilst they are ripe and then drive the price down waiting to harvest shares back from disappointed short-term gamblers who didn't bother doing any research before buying.

The MMs have a problem if they cannot get these shares back because people act like genuine investors and hold onto their shares - what do they do ? Answer - drive it yet lower to snatch shares away from those who may have only bought shares on leverage - this clearly happened between 30p and 18p - I know of numerous people who woke up one morning to discover that what they thought were shares that they owned had been sold from under their feet.

So what to do once this process ends ? Answer - the MMs will try and build up a stock of cheap shares so that they can start the whole process all over again.

Whilst Variable Renewable may indeed be Variable it is at least quite predictable, if you bother to do a weather forecast. This is unlike something like a coal fired power station where it is working one minute and then collapsing or catching fire for unexpected reasons the next.

ohhh UKsteveg you missed the first part of the announcement regarding the Eskom test battery - this stated that the first battery from UET had already been tested and UET/Rongke (not 'Range' - spellchecker !) Power had supplied their latest version based upon their new Reflex sub-modules so that we could all get real world data on the most up to date VRFB systems available. It was that second battery that was yet to be commissioned due to Covid. To describe it purely as a replacement makes it sound like it is a repaired or replacing an incorrectly operating one, when the reality is it is not.
