H1= Q1+Q2

1360 Tonnes at 334.4M Zar Total costs = 245.9 Zar/Kg which is very close to the 248.4 quoted in the Q2 announcement.

I find it annoying that they cannot send someone who can do even elementary mathematics in their head. I suggest that they use a newfangled item called a calculator, or get a different job, that does not involve such challenges.

BBN got it exactly right - and on the updated figures for yearly production (3000 Tonnes) that will give another 1600 tonnes in H2 during which the average Vanadium price is, conservatively, 76.5 USD/KgV.

With all in production costs of 22 USD/KgV that gives 56.5 USD/KgV gross profit x 1600 tonnes = 90.4M USD - that is 70.3M GBP

The BMN share of this is at least 59% so that would be another 41.5M GBP to add to the EBITDA bringing the total for the year to 58 Million Pounds.

Take off up to 28% for tax and royalties and you get 42M GBP free profit.

You can see how H2 makes so much more profit than H1 (more than twice) - this is because you need to stop the plant to do the expansion BEFORE you get the benefits of that expansion. Who knew ?

There's at least 4 of the 250K trades that appear to buy and of the 5 that appear to be sells one is a duplicate and probably an inter-MM transfer.

knutsford - every trade is of course a buy from A and a sell from B.

The question of course is whether it is a buy (by a PI) from a Market Maker, or if it a sell (by a PI) to a market maker. There is no requirement that these cancel out, unless the market makers are trying to establish a completely flat book, i.e. with no long or short position at the end of the day.

This is why it is valuable to calculate the nett trading position that the market makers have, and is precisely of course why they try and make it hard for people to work this out from a simple inspection of the mid-price.

Tapman - I haven't seen the video but there is one thing to bear in mind - academics in the US have been led to believe that Vanadium is somehow a rare material.

This is because the US has no production inside the US.

However Vanadium is not rare. It is more abundant in the earth than any of Zinc, Nickel, and Chrome. It is 3 times more abundant than Copper and much more abundant than Lithium or Cobalt.

Vanadium is the ideal metal to base gigascale energy storage upon.

6 (4MMs + 2xDMA) trying to buy at 24.5 and onyl 1 selling at 25.5p - I suspect that this cannot carry on like this.

But then of course Brits is right next door and about the same size as Vametco so you might be of the opinion that if you could do it at Mokopane you could do it even more easily at Brits.

SOTRR - we should remember that the large majority of the plant cost at Mokopane would have been down the salt roast plant - thus we need to consider the possibility that only crushing and concentration is undertaken at Mokopane and that the salt roast process is undertaken by (a perhaps slightly enlarged) process at Vametco.

This would take a big chunk out of the plant and setup costs as envisaged by the 2016 Mokopane PFS, which of course was undertaken before Vametco was purchased. The 9,525 tonnes of V2O5 envisaged in that PFS of course contains 5,334 Tonnes of Vanadium.

To see if this is practical we simply need to establish if we could transport something like 250-300,000 tonnes of 2% Vanadium concentrate from Mokopane to Vametco, some 150 miles to the south west. Ore have in the past transported almost 100,000 tonnes in one trip. We might need something 1/10th the size of this to permit deliveries every 2 weeks.
