To see what this means to Bushveld Energy 2000MW x 4 hrs = 8 GWh of Energy storage.

Just 1 GWh of VRFB energy storage requires 5,000 Tonnes of Vanadium. If Bushveld Energy could capture a significant fraction of just the South African Energy storage market it would require thousands of tonnes of Vanadium to be mined by Bushveld Minerals.

Bushveld Energy has stated on numerous occasions that it is targeting precisely this amount - 1 GWh of Energy Storage by 2020 ( https://www.thebushveldperspective.com/slides/slide/2017-annual-report-25 ) that is why it is building a VRFB electrolyte plant.

2020 is two years from now.

This mandates for a 250% increase in both renewable PV and wind. Both of these are intermittent and would require energy storage on large scale to be shift energy from the day to the night.

Whilst South Africa has some pumped hydro energy storage it has essentially zero battery storage which can be put down and used anywhere.

Last year, pre Ramaphosa Eskom estimated that it would need to build 2,000 MW of battery storage (probably 4 hour) to handle 18,000 MW of Renewable Energy generation ( https://www.energy-storage.news/news/south-africas-eskom-opens-battery-demo-facility-for-2000mw-energy-storage-n ) - the new IRP now increases the total RE generation to almost 20,000 MW.

Sharesahoy - regardless of whether it would be a legal requirement I can hardly see many employees delighted about get shares that they would only be able to cash in on AIM. Practically speaking if they are to have shares then the company needs to be also listed on the JSE.

Lucan, well in terms of page views of TBP the total no of pageviews from visitors in South Africa over the last 68 days is 239 - this works out at 3.5 a day

earthling I cannot predict the future but I can tell you what has happened in the last 2 weeks and what the current situation appears to be.

The question is will shareholders continue the excess of buying and if so at what point will the Market makers give up trying to get cheap shares to cover the 1.4M they have just sold at 21.5-23.0p and realise that they are going to have to start selling at prices nearer 25p if they expect to be able to get any shares back in the 23-24.0 range.

The other way out is for one of them to pick up the phone to Tom Winnifrith and persuade him to put his neck on the line with another ludicrously researched article in support of another short. Whilst he would no doubt love to give the company a kicking because the SP humiliated him last year I suspect that he and his backers are not that stupid, especially given the fact that we are quite so on the ball with their games now.
