HaleSpur - because the MMs have little interest in pushing the SP higher at the moment - they have a tame seller on the hook and can choose when they take their shares or not. In this case I suspect that the big fund approached the MMs away from the market and agreed a low price transfer. I will leave it to others to decide if this is illegal, unethical, or the best example of financial opportunism that they can think of.

spbhoy and another 200K - I would put money on these actually being a large BUY broken up and supplied at mates rates from the stock of shares that the MMs have available from their tame seller. The same happened last week with a sequence of 500K trades that were broken up. Is it no coincidence that Vameck REMX ETF acquired a further 5.85M shares in BMN last week ?

Using a very conservative price of 56 USD per KgV this would would amount to 1 Million tonnes of Vanadium mined per year ( 11x what we currently produce), using a generous 112 USD/KgV would give 500,000 tonnes production per year (5.5x what is currently produced).

In only 7 years ? I don't think so.

I'm all for seeing an increase in Vanadium production but this is absolute nonsense - even if every single Vanadium mine wannabee in the world right now was successful it would not get within spitting distance of getting to this figure.

Wrong again, China has not been a nett importer of Vanadium 'for years' - from 2000 until 2017 they were a nett exporter, see the last graph here:-

Raxfactor - if one could predict the SP at which 1) massive buying kicks in, or 2) the date on which shorters run out of people to lend them shares, or 3) the point at which a share overhang that is being worked runs out, then it would be a very simply thing just to wait for that point to buy.

It is not a simple thing to work out as 1) depends on the manor other external factors such as what the company news is, what the publicity is like etc 2) it is hard enough estimating which sells are those from shorters, though at least that information is in the publication domain, where they are getting the shares from may be pure supposition and 3) is similar to 2) - you can take a reasonable guess at which sells are those chucked in from a tame seller but unless you know who is selling and what their pot was at the start it is impossible to know. Having said that it was possible to estimate with a fair degree of certainty when the Erongo share overhang would end as described here:-

The important thing that all AIM investors should remember is that whilst the overhang is being worked the company can be making stellar progress but this is not reflected in the share price because the MMs are working the sell by selling short at the start then walking it down so they can make the maximum gain for themselves. This is shown nicely in this video:-

When the overhang ends then the rerate begins. The shorters are currently hoping that they can get out before that happens here, however they may be caught out by news that may come that affects point 1) above.

I take it that you have read some of the numerous articles on the Bushveld Perspective.

loudspeaker of course the reason that Vaneck REMX ETF increased their holdings of all their shares by 44% in the 10 days is precisely down to the possibility that either the US will be stupid enough to apply a tariff to their Rare Earth Metal imports (or more likely the very useful things made in China from those materials) or the Chinese will say screw you then and stop exporting Rare Earth metals, as they did about 10 years ago during a spat with Japan.

Either way BMN benefits by being held in the Vaneck (and other) ETFs as when people buy into the ETF for their exposure to RE metals the fund needs to go out and buy more of all of the underlying shares.

A very good time to build a stake, when someone else is suppressing the price for you. I trust that the shorters realise the game they are playing and the long drop that could await them.
