This has been discussed for a good few days and it makes sense if it gets around one of the rather bizarre criteria to list on NASDAQ.

Is there a reason why it is being discussed again today? Have I missed a bit of news?

Slaine, the share premium account is a book keeping entry which includes all cash received as part of the original IPO and subsequent warrant issues. The court proceeding to release this amount is just a formality to allow buy backs and dividends in the future (if they choose to do so).

There is no pot of £25 million.

The actual cash has long gone, as it has been used to set up the business.

Manifesto, I'm not the most experienced investor, but I worked in stockbroking for many moons, so I understand most of the technical stuff. It get's under my skin when I see some of the nonsense on these boards, but you can't deal with all of them.

However, this had to be put straight.

Why buy shares in their own company to fractionally increase the price (which will just be held back by MMs anyway)
They've put all their spare cash into BTC to HODL and grow.

That's not a buy back.
This refers to a consolidation of shares. They could consolidate 5 shares into 1 which should simply increase the price 5 fold.

We don't need to ditch London.

Multiple venue trading gives companies access to the largest groups of investors.
We need to get on NASDAQ which will allow us to trade as a CDI rather than via OTC. A CDI allows firms to trade and move stocks from say London to US electronically and to automate the process. An OTC transaction is manual and more expensive.
There are literally thousands of companies that trade domestically and in other venues as CDIs. NCYT is an obvious example

With a dual listing on NASDAQ, the demand in the US will drive the price and by trading as a CDI, more brokers in the US will allow access to investors.

I think the MMs are making the most of this before it is out of their hands.

I'm with Argobull on this for now. The share structure seems unclear and I'm not sure what Aquis is all about. There are some very odd looking companies on the Aquis list, including 2 that I hold which have become all but worthless and delisted from AIM.
Like others, I'll still keep an eye on them, but not one for me.

Racing, hard to quantify, but they were quite common and I'd say consolidation was more common than a split.
There are lots of small caps with huge numbers of shares in issue, so maybe there should be a few more. Clearly with some of these it would be akin to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but certainly not in the case of ARB if it accelerates a NASDAQ listing.

I worked in Stockbroking for 35 years and we always called this a consolidation.
It does seem the obvious thing to do, but I'm still quite shocked that the actual share price matters to the Americans.
A consolidation won't change the MCAP.

If you believe BTC has a future, invest in a miner. The most efficient and most undervalued miner is ARB

Herdie, thanks for your comment. Can I just take this opportunity to offer a word of caution regarding the next figures. I think some are expecting a little too much, but The January figures will only reflect the increase in BTC.

However, with kit coming online late January and through February, the real impact and proof of our PH advantage will become very apparent when we see the full March figures in early April.
Probably too far off for the day traders, but those numbers should finally make the penny drop.

Rex, I found ARB in 2019. I bought shares in VELA and one of their investments was ARB. I lost a packet on VELA, so invested directly in ARB.
I now hold 3.9 million.
