As a golfer, of sorts, I always hoped I would live long enough to shoot a score below my age. This time last year I never imagined that $BTC would surpass my age before I got the chance, but I got that wrong. All I have to do now is shoot 57 this year......
To pick up on Sprinter's point, none of us ever hit the perfect exit point! I've certainly taken a decent profit and if I had debts, I would be far more comfortable clearing those and enjoying the Argo ride with a smaller stake.
I sleep much better now, so you might want to consider that too.
Good luck.
shortter, it doesn't matter whether you use Bitcoin priced in dollars, sterling or Hungarian Forints, as long as you always use that currency. Convention is USD and pence, so that's what I use.........
As I said, I could use MCAP, but this isn't a maths test, just a very easy way to mentally calculate whether we are over or under valued.
Posters often ask if Argo SP should follow Bitcoin. Obviously there are a lot of factors involved, such as this week's fund raise or the latest monthly mining numbers.
As a reasonable guide, I simply divide the Bitcoin value (in $), by the Argo SP (in pence). If the answer is above 200, Argo is undervalued and if it's below, it's overvalued. At present $56,700 versus 240p gives a factor of 236.25 so I would be looking to buy.
Over time, the factor will change when Argo rallies (it was nearer 2,000 last year and 400 in January) but as rough guide, it seems to have served me well. I should probably map Bitcoin to the current MCAP, but I'll leave that to someone else!
Minicheddar, you beat me to it.
Genuinely, I used to work with a bloke called Joe King back in the eighties. In another firm there was an American guy called Frank Wattecant. We were extremely careful when pronouncing his name...
