Yes ...tonight at 5.30pm !! Obviously not a big following on here as no comment. Fall seems to have gone too far. Excellent. dividend largely preserved.
Is is disingenuous to suggest that the market cap and relative strength of a company are not taken into consideration when that company takes out loans. DEC have done themselves no favors by letting the share price slide for 16 months. Make no mistake , the fault lies to a large extent with them and their reluctance to follow through with 2 share buyback schemes. They will find the terms on borrowing much more severe than before over and above the rises in interest rates. It is the company that borrows the money not the asset.
Well whilst on the subject of nonsense......
“2023, of course, we're already three months in but just, it will be a transformational year for Diversified. I will make you that commitment. It will not, it will not be a quiet year by any stretch of imagination.
In fact, you know, I'm 100% focused on three year strategic plan that will give investors comfort around sustainability of cash flows, dividend we’re highly focused on that. Some of them, the main initiatives of 2023, obviously the US listing is of most important. It will get done, It will get done.
That's number one, The market is very active right now, Lots of chatter, lots of stuff, plus calls, lots of things going on, We'll be focused on strategic opportunities, to acquire assets to look at ways to as we talked about earlier, enhance production, but also scale up in the regions we operate today and there could be opportunities to merge and to do things that is a little bit outside the box of what we typically will do.
But there's everything is on the table this year, we believe that the opportunity set is large. The other thing that we were going to really focus on heavily in 2023, is finding ways to get that value from our undeveloped assets. So we're having conversations with multiple parties about ways to joint venture to, to find ways to, to extract that value out of the ???????.
So, we will see opportunities there and there will be ways to to do that and announcements coming For the analysts, you're going to be busy with us. There's going to be lots of activity that you're going to have to keep up with. For our investors. It's going to be a big ride this year, an enjoyable one.”
The only promise in that nonsense that has materialised has been the US listing. What a poison chalice that has turned out to be. If it turns out that the management knew of the impending inquiry and still let the US listing proceed then there is indeed a case to answer.
Notrex you are correct. For many months I have read post after post on here with fabricated excuses as to why next to no buybacks were happening . This was despite the company reporting that it had cash in hand. The main problem here is that they have lost much credibility . It is a matter of record that they have not achieved their if not promises , undertakings for the year. I for one think that if they do not lie they sail very close to it. If it is indeed proved that their decommissioning costs are understated then we are nowhere near the bottom.
Quite right TerryM1 share price is very important to the company and not just us the holders. Weakness here has led directly to the US listing prospect cancellation and has sown doubt in many investor's minds . Unsurprisingly this has led to more selling creating a vicious circle . If a company's value falls this far so does it's credibility which in turn can have unfavorable repercussions.
It is not the company's fault if no favourable acquisitions have presented themselves but their lack of action on buybacks certainly is. This negativity could easily be combatted by buying back shares but they chose not to or just buy insignificant amounts.
Before anyone chimes in with there are limits , these allowances have nowhere near been breached . The company seems almost self destructive and their investor relations department ignores correspondence . Their reasons for lack of action remain unanswered.
Notrex don't lose heart . You are 100% correct. The level of complacency exhibited on here is breathtaking. Somewhere near 50% down in a year and it's not their fault ! Well I don't see the wider market down by anything like this. More pertinent most comparable US gas producers are doing quite well. Gas is rising , dollar rising against GBP and a large percentage of gas sales hedged at higher than the spot rate and yet this has fallen back to IPO levels of 6 years ago. Management is largely responsible . 2 failed buybacks, second placing after not learning from the first one and a series of broken undertakings this year.
They are now the victims of ongoing negatively brought about largely by their own actions.
