It must be nice being a CEO at Genel Energy with so helpful Non Ex's/Chairman and being able to copy and paste certain important bits every year.

Paul Weir became CEO in 2022 with the SP high of 185 and currently now 53, -71% but not to worry as Paul's salary and bonus has increased every year and is currently circa £1.1 Mio. As long as we carry on ticking all those DEI boxes which go towards his salary and bonus targets great, because as those deserving people receiving free medical attention and paid for university scholarships residing in the KRG, who so far there "elected representatives" refuse to pay money owed to Genel that's perfectly fine. No need for Paul to contribute from his own vast salary (or if he does, it might just be a personal thing not publicised) as Genel shareholders will pay and they aren't really bothered about little things like eventually shares appreciating or a trivial point being a dividend which has been lacking for the last 3 years.

Non Ex's/ChaIrman get a backbone and if the CEO is incapable of delivering get another one or better still instigate a buyer who can turn this shambles around please!

Paul Weir was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Genel Energy in June 2022. His historical pay has been heavily weighted towards salary and bonuses, with a notable portion of compensation linked to company performance.

2024: Total compensation was approximately $1.24 million (approx. £980k), comprised of 50.1% salary ($620.98k) and 49.9% bonuses.

Performance vs. Pay: While Genel Energy experienced a significant reduction in revenue (from $401.9M in 2022 to $84.8M in 2023), executive pay remained relatively stable, with compensation described as above average for companies of similar size in the UK market.

Shareholding: Paul Weir holds 0.017% of the company's shares.

JPM etc , any chance of lining up Chevron, BP, Total etc to sort this company out?

With current oil prices circa $112, might it be a good idea for Genel's management to arrange a guaranteed payment from the Iraq and the KRG (and inform their shareholders that at least they are trying) to use the Iraq/Turkish pipeline rather than giving grants here and there.

Where is the research/promotion of Genel Energy? You will struggle to find anything anywhere.

There bond issuer, Pareto doesn't seem to offer research to promote them but again I might have missed this so apologies if I have.

Might it be a good idea for their PR department to look it this as their share price has crated and find ways to promote the company.

Genel Energy floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2011 at an initial price of £10.00 per share.

The company entered the market through a reverse takeover by Vallares Plc, a "blank check" investment vehicle founded by former BP CEO Tony Hayward and financier Nathaniel Rothschild.

IPO Price: £10.00 (1000p) per share.

Admission Date: June 2011 (as Vallares) / November 2011 (renamed to Genel Energy).

Historical High: Approximately £11.13 in early 2014.

Recent Performance: As of late March 2026, the share price has traded significantly lower, approximately 55p to 56p.

Any thoughts on management remuneration ,as it seems that this company needs to be run for shareholders rather than bond holders and advisors but of course I can be totally wrong and wouldn't want to be biased in any direction!

With what is currently happening in the Gulf, Chevron with a mkt cap of 422 Billion might want to take a snack of Genel at 148 Mio and rerhaps pay triple for it's reserves and American interest in the region.

Having been a shareholder for circa 10 years, buying in as the ex CEO of BP Tony HaywardI might have been a credible CEO, unfortunately not for long.

I know Jim800 has been pretty negative but I can see why.

Oil prices are clearly up, Genel share price down, again. Is it time for a sweep out of the management?

No dividends since 2023, copy and paste reports, and expensive management.

Is this company working for the owners (shareholders) or management and their charitable goals. Lovely to donate share holders funds for various health and free university places but perhaps the board should this take it out of their own remunerations if they can't pay a dividend to their owners, being shareholders.
