Brittanias are just one example of a 999.9 bullion gold coin. You are buying such coins for the gold. Other gold bullion coins currently available include James Bond, Myths and Legends and Gothic Horror.

'Mint' is not the issue with gold bullion coins - such judgments are for 'proof' coins. You are buying the physical gold when you buy bullion coins, not starting a coin collection which is whole different game.

Yes, you can buy 'proof' quality gold Brittanias but you are paying a lot over the gold value for such coins.

'Business relief' rules? I think that meant the AIM company was actually doing a job, not just collecting money and investing elsewhere...

Be aware that all companies have different costs to run accounts. I transferred out of HL because of the massive increased cost they rcently applied.

Many university courses are a waste of time but many are not. I suspect many of the positions at GGP are held by those with degrees.

I also put money into a Junior ISA but in my case it's for my grandchild with the aim of covering his university fees and accomodation cost so he wont have to take out a student loan. I also put the full £2880 into a junior SIPP (pension) for many reasons not least that the government adds £720 to it. The Junior SIPP means he has an assured pension when I am long gone - and when he probably does not need it - but I am assuming the money may then go down to make life better for the next generation...

Buy pre-owned bullion coins in my view. That way you are buying the physical gold in its cheapest form. 'New' implies you want to start getting involved with real coin-collecting and that is a different ball game.

I use the Royal Mint site. They even have a 'buy back' method...

I use the Royal Mint site when buying coins (why pay a commission to a secondary seller?) and the two KC111 silver Brittania 1 oz coins they are selling are - the 2026 Bullion version at £82.30 and the 2026 Silver Proof coin (limited edition) at £157.50 (which may or may not include VAT).
