Only thing I am concerned about is Ed’s bandwidth to help these companies. He appears to be MD of emmac UK which I imagine takes up a fair chunk of this time.
Disagree profusely with that comment. As Ed alluded to he wants to be a value add investor due to his perceived expertise in this sector. If I was doing a raise I would favour value add investors. Suppose it boils down to the value they think Ed and the team can bring. But yes I would be annoyed if we kept getting meaningless stakes in these raises when we are supposedly cannabis guros. Think of dragons den lol.
Great post -very well put. I am a holder as I actually do the same logic when I decide whether i think ffwd is under/over valued. Unlike some who pluck a number out of thin air and try and drill it down peoples throats. Clearly upside from the current SP. ensuring Ed Mac doesn’t do anything daft with the cash.
The ramp squad plucking wild numbers out of thin air has caused this situation. The “ it’s a 1bn” company doesn’t help anyone and with their track record they should frankly skuttle off with their tails between their legs. If I posted everywhere and I was 800m out I would apologise and keep it trapped in future. As I clearly have no clue about ffwd or it’s assets or business for that matter.
Think we all know who the main protagonists are. I have seen this countless amounts of times. We need to drown out their ramping drivel 1) to protect our investment and 2) so they don’t lure others in who then sell when it turns out to be way off the mark.
Report their posts on all platforms. Wouldn’t want to know how much this orchestrated bunch have made from the trades over the years. Enough to still do it 4 years on I may add.
Because my opinion of what a share price is going to do has no material impact. I know I have been right about the majority of things I have posted on here but my credibility isn’t that high just yet.
It would appear I was correct unfortunately. Mass exodus I would have thought. Holding for 4 years and getting a return of 1.8x is quite frankly embarrassing. Back down to 8p.
I have said this from the start. For our CEO and connections ( Lorne ) to be so heavily involved in emmac and for us to only get 2m while they have such high stakes stunk. Especially when you add in that Ed wouldn’t buy any ffwd stock. It is isn’t surprising really.
Such a great cannabis fund when your CEO has founded a business but he will only let you have 2m.
I will wait and see around if we can hold but as they sell recreational cannabis I can’t see how we can?
Very disappointing return for ffwd. 200% is shocking when we have invested from seed and only got a small chunk. Sure Ed and his Merry friends have made a fortune- said from day dot Ed has no financial reward in ffwd doing well. We can’t hold the stock due to regulation much like Aphria so we will have to sell the stock. While Ed and his Merry men can enjoy the SP rise of Curaleaf. Funny he couldn’t wait a week to talk through this deal on the investor call isn’t it. Crook.
So Ed- where are you expecting this £50m mc to come from? Are you predicting that one of your embarrassingly low holding like south west brands might 30 bag in 9 months?
But yes Ed has done great. His ballsy investment of 200k are really going to take us to new heights. Oh we might get a placing to along the way so he can stare at the cash for his nighttime reading.
He never said the MC would be £100m- let’s not twist his words. His ambition is to get these heights. Every CEO has ambitious plans- the difficulty is delivering them.
No suprise to see the pump and dump squad are a little quiet this week. Mass rally in the last 2 months and selling into the spike? Seen it numerous times before. Remember yooma was going to the moon? The value is now verging on becoming lower than NAV. Beware- still a buy but I would be wary of the orchestra ramping for their own financial benefit. Shame AIM works like this.
Agreed. Ed is paid to maximise shareholders wealth. Selling just as the company was going to relist is naive at best. Everyone saying he’s doing doing a great job.. what has he done so far which has come off? He inherited Leap. Super pleased he is pivoting to a cannabis focussed company but let’s not blow his trumpet.... yet.
Good to have exposure to more cannabis plays. £250k doesn’t get the heart racing but hopefully we should see more investments of this nature shortly ( albeit bigger investments )
1.1 mil trade was a mess up it looks like. They are both cancelled now.
Onwards and upwards.
Spot on thank you. I must say reading it in this light makes complete sense. Look forward to more investments soon ( love more money to be invested in emmac )
Good news but very confused with Ed’s comment.
RNS- we have done the placing to be able to invest in new opportunities in line with new strategy.
Twitter - having cash in the bank can help in negotiations. This implies he isn’t planning on spending it or have I misread this? Also what is he planning on selling I thought leap was listing?
Be interesting if anyone else picked up on this.
Please ignore the last comment re lorne. On the train and didn’t read it in great detail. Good RNS now Ed let’s see you put your balls on the line.
Ed- if Lorne was able to participate in the placing why weren’t you? Short of a few quid or do you not believe your own blurb?
What can I say. I don’t come cheap. Let’s hope Ed uses the cash this time eh. Nagging concern is if Leap was going to 5 fold very soon would Lorne the ex CEO who is on the board of Leap and found this gem really sell now?
100%. IMO I honestly think he is clueless. I listened to a podcast he did with doc and he said something in the lines of “ if I was able to rename ffwd to a cannabis fund now I would “. Is he in the real world? At the time we had an embarrassing £2m invested in the cannabis sector. For all he’s vocal about how it’s going to be an industry boom why hasn’t he give us exposure? He spooked the market by increasing the ability to raise cash yet has done naff all with it. We have £5m invested in flipping blockchain, money tied up in student loans, diabetic boots and money tied up in LEAP. It’s so spread out how can Ed seriously see ffwd as a cannabis fund? Get LEAP monetised and move it into the cannabis sector or do a placing and USE the money.
I’ll drink to that. Have no faith in anyone at ffwd- especially the new CEO who thought it was a great idea to do a placement and sit on the proceeds for months on end.
Lucky he has inherited a great asset in the likes of LEAP - which will likely gloss over the **** performance to date.
I expect some yooma news tomorrow however it will rightfully have no effect on SP. Shrewd investment for ffwd to invest in a seed company and the liquidity event is valued less than initial transaction value. Great to see investing in a seed which carries huge risk has been greatly rewarded.
Looks like Ed’s interviews on proactive are a little too much hard work for the great man now and they have been scrapped. What has he actually done in his stint as CEO? He has sold portage before the spike and he has diluted us to sit on the cash for months? Serious q?
Does Al know that the world needs his product ASAP. Even if the Covid testing yields some return for the company I think AS has to go. Shows his sheer incompetency throughout this process. If he can’t bring a Covid text to market in a timely manner are you really letting him oversee a potential cancer treatment?
However, if Bruker are working with avct it does imply the reagents are very good. Painful though.
Good news today. Further evidence emmac are going to be big players in the European market WHEN not IF cannabis becomes regulated in the EU. Very frustrating that we only have 1 play in this space when ED trys to sell ffwd as being a cannabis focussed fund. It isn’t. Anyone got any ideas where the rest of the placing money went?
Not fully convinced by Yooma. The market values it slightly less than NAV I believe. Hope this appreciates while on the market.
Would be confident that Ed will have a target to get NAV to a suitable level before year end. Let’s hope he has something in his back pocket before end of March. ( leap or emmac ) are the only real catalysts for some material NAV movement ImO
