Brilliant posts mate, really eye opening and gives us all an insight into the "scene" I have learnt a lot today and I will definantly look up some of the names you mention. Keep us all informed with "mood checks" from GFIN and I hear any news I will also post up here. If you have any questions then feel free to ask, there are some good guys on here who will assist you. Thanks again for taking the time for such a detailed post
We will grill james over the coming days to get a better feel for GFIN, whilst I understand the business model and exactly what they do, what I do not have a feel for is it as cool/ popular as in iphone 6 or is GFIN a Samsung s4, both very respectable phones but you get my point.....
JamesL - welcome to the madness of LSE ( I hope you don't regret joining) It is really good to have an actual gamer on board as most on here play a bit of candy crush on their mobile phone. You overview of the recent events is good but I have a few questions. 1) how was the recent call of duty event at the weekend received online and at the venue? I am not sure about viewing figures but a general feel for the atmosphere and tempo of the event would be helpful. 2) Is Gfin cool with the kids? Strange question but I have seen a number of these events recently and I just wondered if GFIn had good brand royalty and are the best name in the game 3) what are the online events they hold like? Are they well presented etc. 4) I notice multiplayer got bought by Game yesterday for £20m - do you think they will be a competitor going forward and do multiplayer offers good product? 5) how was the e- sports arena at VUE Fulham taken in the gaming community has it created a buzz? Thanks in advance, no need to rush an answer but these are the questions that I have unanswered and my kids are too young to ask.
Hi Bel and other GFIN holders. March I feel will be a big turning point, the opening of the new e-arena at the VUE cinema in Fulham in March as well the much anticipated world championships being held at the opera house in covent garden. Both will generate mainstream press coverage as well as revenue. I am sure you have read the telegraph article this week but this comment from Neville Upton stood out. "There will be an eSports section in the Telegraph,” said Upton. “There will be an eSports Match of the Day.” It may be a while before eSports fully breaks into the mainstream consciousness, but the numbers are already bewildering. The Call of Duty Championships are becoming an increasingly important date on the eSports calendar, but is still in the shadow of the most-watched and most-rewarded games. In addition zak mir this week covered GFIN from a technical perspective and sees 35 p short term. It would be a very bullish sign if we break 30 p this week. GL all
A good morning MY21. I agree wholeheartedly, I also think it is a very astute and cleaver move. I did have concerns that they would try and build their own arena with the upfront costs involved. This tie up with a respected brànd allows for the GFin branding at a prominent cinema in London, no upfront costs, technology and infrastructure to host events already there. Finally and most importantly they have cinemas all over the UK, including the showcase west gate centre in West London. Great news
I agree, I am looking forward to the GFIN e sports arena, I would imagine they don't come cheap and some sort of sponsorship deal will be announced which will give a strong indication of where this is going. Naming rights maybe ?
They must have something to say at the investor show in February as Chinny tweeted, no one is wanting to talk buttons? At least a name change and a strategy, no ? I would have thought that is when they will go and raise funds
