Seriously though, what kind of pandemic are we experiencing (or rather mismanagement of pandemic) where there are insufficient samples to work with for one of the companies that the Gov is relying on to help us out of it? Astounding!

My partner is currently working as a subcontractor with Network Rail and undergoing weekly (brain tickler) Covid testing. He had a conversation this morning with the guy who’s in charge of site safety and apparently he will be going for training next week on how to supervise a new form of testing. Apparently it’s swab (lower nasal and back of throat) and linked to a QR code. Is it us? (I’m hoping that our test eliminates the need for back of throat.)

NCYT have an RNS announcing mobile PCR labs that can run 900 tests at a time, taking 90 minutes. They seem to think this will permit footie etc. to return to normal.

So, the test “identifies specific targets which includes SARS-CoV-2, within breath condensate samples in less than 90 seconds.”

Two questions: 1 Does it use Affimers? (I remember that GB stopped following Avacta on Twitter, which we all assumed was to do with NDA.
2) Why does our LTD take 10-20 mins for a result if Affimers can deliver results in 90 seconds?

My dentist told me about her trip to Downing Street during the illustrious May era. She had been invited to celebrate the centenary of the NHS. Apparently when she walked into the reception area, what caught her eye (nestled amongst the portraits of previous PMs) was a neon sign reading “More Sex!” Full of curiosity, she actually had the temerity to ask Theresa where the item had come from.

Apparently PMs are able to keep artworks that are donated to them personally if they wish, after leaving No. 10. The provenance of “More Sex!” was from Tracey Emin to David Cameron and he had decided to donate it to No. 10! No wonder Carrie felt the need to refurbish!

‘A bit miffed’ they are positively spitting venom. I don’t think that even during peak Al’s New House-gate we were quite so disrespectful of our CEO over here. (Although some came close.)
