This will recover. When American travel open up I will buy in here.
Most iag profit comes from British Airways.
Most BA profit comes from Trans Atlantic flights.
So it is fairly obvious that the big turnaround comes when we are allowed to travel to the US. I had a flight booked to Tampa, 26 September. BA has cancelled it and put me on the next available flight. 10 October. This tells me BA do not see American travel opening up before October. At the earliest. This will go lower wait and buy in.
What is there not to like about scancell and today’s interview.
1. Sky interview was a plead for funding. They admit cannot get funding.
2. Already ten vaccines in testing in the Uk. Far more worldwide. Scancell are miles behind.
3. Big investor Martin Diggle has now sold most of his investment here. In only a few months. At these prices he obviously feels no big price move Imminent.
How much would it take to live solely off dividends in today’s age.?
A guy who is used to earning a high wage and has a higher than average standard off living would need £2,000 a week surely.?
How much would you have to have invested in the market to achieve a wage off £2,000 a week or £104,000 a year.?
Well assume the average dividend is 5%. Which is very generous indeed in today’s world. To achieve 5% a year from dividend payments you would need to have over 2 million pounds in shares in the market.
All these figures presume there is no taxes to pay on your dividends. To build a pot of over £2 million and a yearly return of £104,000 in dividend payments without paying taxes would be very difficult indeed. But if we add taxes to all the above figures, then your pot would need to be larger than £2miillion and your weekly or yearly dividends would need to be higher as well.
Impossible for a man under the official retirement age to live solely off dividends. Unless you are a multi millionaire. Bearing in mind the properties and commercial property you claim to own. You are claiming to have multi millions. As I recall you were looking forward to your Scancell holding making you a millionaire.
Anyway, meetings all day, so I will leave it to you.
Sorry Inan, but I have to correct your untrue post.
You have in fact told posters that you live off your commercial property rents.
You have also told posters on many occasions that you are all in on Scancell. Hold no other shares.
I won’t get into an arguement with you. But many long term holders here know your post is totally untrue. Have a nice day.
You also need to understand Irish politics here as well.
The DUP are traditionally on the same page and share similar beliefs to the Tories.
Labour has traditionally been closer and side with the Irish Catholic parties.
So in reality, the DUP will never side with the Labour Party, especially with a left wing leader like Jeremy Corbyn at the helm. Without the DUP support, there cannot be a GE. So the numbers are very much with the Tories. There can only be a GE if a large number of Torie MP’s vote with the opposition on the idea of a GE.
Do anybody really think conservative MP’s will vote for a GE.? Not on their money and perks they won’t. Not with another 4 years in the bank.
Lol.
There will be no GE. Because the conservatives and DUP will unite against it. What possible reason would there be for the conservatives or DUP to want a GE.?
As a last resort there will be a referendum. The country will decide. Tory and DUP MP’s will not throw away 4 years of job security.
This will end in a referendum. Then that decision will be final. MP’s cannot argue with that result.
You have to remember, the vast majority of voters do not own large numbers of shares, collecting dividends totalling thousands per year. They do not own their own homes. They live from wage packet to wage packet. ( no not me. Lol.)
So when a nutter like Corbyn comes along and promises the likes of a four day week, of course it will go down great. People are only interested in themselves not the economy or big buisiness. To the vast electorate out there, this man will be hard to beat in an election.
The Tory party is rather like the electorate, not sure what to do or believe regarding Brexit. It is like the country. Off divided opinion. Nearly Evenly split. This could be Mr Corbyn ‘s way into 10 Downing Street.
In a funny way, I kind of understand May’s last election strategy.
She was 20% ahead in the polls, a huge margin and Corbyn was being portrayed as a nutcase who would cripple the economy.
So I think, she thought it was already in the bag. Therefore she campaigned in a low key manner. Not say or do anything controversial. It was hers to loose kind of thing.
Where she got it wrong. Was that large numbers of the population fell in love with Corbyn promises. He promised everyone everything and will do again. Voters didn’t want to ask or know where the money comes from. Or how the economy will cope. All they care about is what they will get from him. That’s why Corbyn is very dangerous come election time. He promises everyone everything.
He will be much harder to defeat than people imagine.
16.05 If Mrs May wins the no confidence vote, she can carry on. There can not be another for at least a year . So her choice, and she is stubborn. Fact.
16.30 It is my opinion that her last election campaign was so bad that the Tory party would not want her to head another election.
Hope that clears it up for you. The first is more Fact while the second is more opinion.
I think you have forgotten most of the Tory MP’s would be regarded as more moderate Brexiteers. So I am not sure such aggressive Brexiteers would be elected.
I have heard from certain sources that Michael Gove is very well placed and thought of as a slightly less rebellious character.
If May is stubborn, she can carry on.
Brexiteers are struggling to find 48 letters to call a tory vote. Most Tories would still rather than her than a Brexiteer i think. Only 80 Tories are Brexiteers i read.
Are you a member of the Tory party.?
Be a very interesting week for her. Be very interesting to see what happens from here. Going back to the EU for a better deal would be pointless. Will there be a referendum.? A general election.? A Tory election.? Crash out of the EU with no deal and go to WTO rules.?
All up in the air.
Stocks and the pound should produce some good buying opportunities.
Immigrants can travel from the EU through Ireland and claim assylum in the UK. So not good for the UK either.
Be interesting to see if May will face a leadership challenge.? Looks like getting 48 letters is hard enough, so cannot see that working.
I think there will be a vote, but it will be defeated. Then what.?
Good for shares anyway, should be some nice discounts over the next few weeks.
