The Verticalnaya mine has proved reserves of 5.6m tonnes and probable reserves of another 21.3m tonnes and ECX gets $1 for every one that's mined. Mkt. Cap. is a mere £660k which looks ridiculously cheap as long as they can survive.

Which is good news but I seem to recall that when the $h!t hits the fan gold mining shares are sold as well! In order to cover losses elsewhere. I'd prefer to see an orderly rise so I can exit when I'm up 50%. When things get really difficult baked beans will be more valuable than gold. Trust me.

Strategic Reviews always make me sell and it looks like it was the right response here! Except Tesco's current woes might indicate that independent retailers have a future. It's all down to service and not being greedy - both of which Tesco have failed. Treating your customers like idiots eventually makes them feel like idiots!

My investment in ECX is peanuts compared with the Ukraine's fight for free speech against Putin's Russia. As soon as he's been told where to go maybe ECX can resume business.

But I still hold some in my ISA where I'm down 89% because I still think WAS could be a multi-multi-bagger if only everything falls into place. It's a big ask but the fact that doubling the shares in issue only led to a 19% fall in the SP suggests that the future might be bright. On the other hand, I'm expecting WAS to hit 0.15p at which point I might go large.

SP up 33% since my last post!

Not one of my best investments - I'm currently down 92% which means ECX needs to rise 1250% before I'm into profit! Unlikely but if they can attract the necessary funding I can see it rocketing at least 250%. Place your bets.

The 100% spread is slightly off-putting!

...in an age of deflation? The European Central Bank has reduced its benchmark interest rate to 0.25% because there's not enough inflation! Tell that to UK energy buyers. Can't help thinking that doubling the interest rate to 1% would've had a more shocking effect - and the economy needs a shock! We are in uncharted territory but if I want to be invested in gold I'm happy here. But if gold suddenly rockets then it's time to buy the highly-geared. i.e. the companies that are on their last legs!

The current SP is either very cheap or 10 times where it might eventually end up! Or a tenth of where it might end up. A couple of years ago I recommended WAS to a couple of friends and they're sitting on huge losses. As am I - the perils of AIM! I'm continuing to hold in the hope that WAS actually delivers.

Once more, we meet again! AMA is undervalued as are most gold miners. Interest rates have to rise from their artificial lows which means there will be a flight into equities from bond-holders and then gold will make sense after the bubble inevitably bursts.

Yes - up 64% in Canada and valued at 6.9p over there . £4.28m for a producing coalmine seems cheap to me.

I share pompeyboy1's opinion of you! Gold is going to rocket sooner or later and I'm not talking several years. AMA is a bargain at this price if you're taking a medium-term view. How can the UK Government's "helping" the housing meerkat not end in tears? Why don't they just commit to building 1m more houses? That's too socialist but it's also common sense! The next government will be Labour but even they won't build 1m houses. What's so difficult?

Agreed, things aren't going well for ECX and WAS plunged today - Mr Byrne has a lot to answer for. Thankfully, both are minor parts of my PF so I'll continue to hold and await further developments. ECX and WAS could easily rocket 200% with the right news.

I'm down 84% in my ISA and 35% in my trading account so I shan't be "topping-up". How I hate that phrase! I've no idea what's gone wrong with WAS but if they can manage to turn things around it will be a multi-bagger!

Above this share discussion is a box entitled Directors Deals - it claims John Conlon owned 30161794 shares on 4 June and then sold 5000000 on the 14 June apparently leaving him with none! It also says John Byrne owns 16907000. This figure and the 25161794 for Mr Conlon are listed in the 2012 Annual report dated 28 June 2013. This is pre-share consolidation so perhaps these holdings should be divided by 10? On the website it states plainly that the largest 6 shareholders own almost 50% of the company but Messrs Byrne & Conlon are not mentioned. Largest shareholder is Salida Capital, a Canadian fund manager, who hold 18.35%.

No doubt on the back of ATC's 100% rise today (and I'm a shareholder there too). It was analysing ECX that led me to discover ATC as they have a very informative website if you want to research coal. I decided that ATC was undervalued but nowhere near as much as ECX - their extraction costs were a fraction of ATC's but that might have changed. ECX is currently valued at £3.37m which is ridiculous - DYOR and decide whether it should be £10m, £20m or £30m. I couldn't possibly comment.

Buys to sells 13-1 and it's down 11% - is something brewing?

Currently down 20% in Canada - what can you do? There's something strange about this share and I will continue to HOLD. If it can plunge so spectacularly then hopefully it can rise in a similar fashion.
