Bozi, you're right about a predator(s) wanting to 'strong-arm' their way to ownership, but this situation is hardly unique to SOLG. These companies are highly aggressive and do not exist in order to appease the shareholders of competitors; they exist in order to prevent them taking market share. And it always amuses me when people get so angry about BHP and their tactics whilst ignoring the fact we behaved in EXACTLY the same manner towards CGP. (that particular folly was when the rot started to set in and was one of the key reasons Mather had to go)
The task of our board is to recognise the inevitable and to ensure they maximise the return for shareholders, and in order to do this they should have a strategy which is fit for purpose and negotiate from a position of strength i.e when we have a demonstrable resources, a plan for production and when we have plenty of cash in the bank. Our board is not stupid and they will know this, and I'm certain our advisors will have told them the same thing. Therefore it's my belief they are working behind the scenes in order to secure maximum return on our investments. The public statements about going to production are a gigantic, but necessary, smokescreen which no one really believes - well, hardly anyone.
