Q, not strictly true. Given that a transformational disposal of this nature is price sensitive, if the sp started racing away a statement would be required. In fact, if we got to HoTs I'm fairly certain an announcement would be required.
I'm not sure of the modern rules, but back in the good ol' days when I was involved in this type of transaction, depending on the value of the assets being disposed versus the current balance sheet value, it would qualify as a Class 1 or 2 transaction.
Eloro, don't forget SC's statement about non-dilutive funding. The proceeds of a sale could divi'ed out and the plc, now only consisting of Cascabel, could raise sufficient working capital via this form of funding, to take us through to disposal. Who knows, we may even raise enough to pay off the current debt?
Whatever the plans I think it imperative a distribution of some kind is made to shareholders. We may have to wait for the big payday, but in the meantime a promise was made to shareholders and the company's reputation would be significantly enhanced if they deliver on that promise.
Is this possible? I guess if HfH's suggestion is correct, a great deal hangs on the value attributed to Porvenir.
'84, that's not my point. I was referring to earlier comments in which people are now questioning the blokes mysterious appearance and rapid disappearance, whereas hitherto they were lapping it up.
Last week I suggested he may be a bit dodgy and received a virtual shrug of the shoulders and one or two remonstrations that I was being a grinch.
The surprising thing about his posts was the number of recommendations they got. People are desperate to hear positive news, no matter what the provenance and that makes it easier for someone like him to be taken seriously. Unless the source of information is the company scepticism should be the default position at the moment.
TI, the sad thing is that these characters are motivated by sheer spite and enjoyment at other people's discomfort. Their comments say far more about what sort of people they are than the targets of their bile. The great pity is they live among us - although The Moron doesn't. He's in the Outback somewhere, 400 miles from civilization and who communicates by shouting into a tin can attached to a piece of string which is illegally linked to someone's wifi in Perth.
We've had a 60% increase (or something like that) over the past month and we now have a 14% re-trace and they're back telling everyone how brilliant they are and how they knew it would 'collapse'. Total tools.
It's absolutely hilarious and not remotely edifying. Have they missed everything that's been said by the company so far this year? Or perhaps they can't read.
SPC. Incidentally, I agree with about the excellence of the sponsorship scheme.
Two team mates in OUABC had them; a gunner and a Marine. They both served in the Falklands and were both decorated. The gunner went on to become a journalist and author, the Marine served a life commission and ended his career as commanding officer of the SBS. He was a great bloke.
I'm not remotely interested in EVs and haven't enjoyed driving the two that were lent to me as courtesy cars. But I did like Clarkson's recent comment ; " If an EV owner starts talking about the range of his vehicle, you know he's about to lie".
