I haven't posted or even checked in here for about 6 months. My shareholding which was originally five figures couldn't even get me a decent night out. I'm past caring and would rather the company put us all out of our misery and folded. Its the hope that kills you...
Whippet... I assume you are aware of the SP decimation over the last decade? Even if the drugs are worth billions, VAL shareholders won't see a penny of it. VAL is simply a vehicle for raising funds and keeping this afloat. The directors all receive a salary so don't care about the SP, the bucket shops don't care because they make their crust and move on to the next company desperate for funds. It is all very enticing to think about the big numbers involved in a commercial deal. May I point you in the direction of the Euromillions... The return is higher and your chances are better.
...and just to expand for anybody who doesn't understand the calculation... A company has an ROC obligation and their total payment is based on how many ROCs are presented. You calculation is based on zero ROCs presented i.e an unlikely worst case scenario. Last year, Yu presented almost 75% of their obligation so on the assumption this percentage remains the same then the amount due is closer to £2m-£2.5m. Happy to be corrected.
Right... I am feeling more comfortable about the RO payment now. In 17/18 Yu's total obligation was 144,551 ROCs and they presented 105,549. Their payment that year was £1,777,711.16. We know that the ROCs will have increase so all we can do is hope that they present an equal percentage. I'd expect the payment to be roughly £2,500,000.
The cash position is strong as of today. What about once this large payment has been made? The large payment that they don’t tell us how large! It’s clearly going to wipe out the cash reserves and there will be a cash call in the next 3 quarter. Why else would you hide the actual figure
I never like the term 'accrued expenses' because it is just a big pot that could have anything in it. Are we to assume that the increase of £10m in accrued expenses is just their attempt at growth? I want a more in depth breakdown of these figures.
But the SP was £12+ based on the incorrect figures they put forward? It can't really be compared can it. Of course the SP is going to be a lot higher if the market thinks that they are raking the cash in (slight exaggeration - 'making a profit' is more apt). I still hold here and I am under water but I don't have the confidence in a rerate that I once had. It should have moved and sustained when the FCA called time on their investigation. The fact it dropped down to the low we see today worries me.
Probably not no. I think its just going to drift over the next few months and then settle not too far from here. Unfortunately, in hindsight, the signs where there when the rise couldn't be sustained at around 3p when we have genuine great news along with end of FCA investigation etc. Long term it'll probably come good but the risk is probably too high at the moment. I'm still invested but I am considering how to proceed.
