Think most are forgetting the most important thing here, Mongolia NEED the oil for the refinery, you cannot conjure wells up, they take time to drill, being realistic if they want to make up the daily oil shortfall they have they MUST start drilling Heron soon, at the very very latest April next year.

We know for certain PCs oilfield is played out.

Mongolia will be pushing for this every bit as hard as MATAD.

Most miss the fact MB was chosen for a reason, he is known as an oil explorer, always has been and always will be, its why Petrovis chose him, his remit, go explore Mongolia and find oil, all part of Mongolia’s “Vision 2050” mentioned by MB.

Mongolia want energy self-sufficiency, they want to end reliance on Chinese and Russian energy imports, hence the refinery and MBs appointment as the CEO tasked with finding oil to feed the refinery, its also why bloxk XX / Heron has been confirmed as State Special Purpose Land. This is the first oil exploration and production area in Mongolia to have been given this status (RNS 5th Feb).

MATAD was never about growing into a Mongolian EXXON, Heron field will be farmed out/ JV or sold to an oil major such as ONGC of India, Sinopec/Dongsheng, Petro China or another entity that can afford to develop it, this will be cash sum or cash plus percentage of Heron oil produced or some other deal, MATAD will go on its way with a pocket full of cash and continue to explore our new block VII and other areas of Mongolia.

MATAD play a major role in Mongolia’s energy vision and will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Note to MB, if we sell Heron to Petro China make sure the cash is in the bank before handing the keys to Heron over, we now know PC cannot be trusted.

Can you confirm if India’s ONGC/OVL would be one of the entity’s previously mentioned at the AGM, also can you give an update on JV/Heron buyout talks, I am not asking for confidential details just a brief summary of how things are progressing.

It took a long time for it (H2) to come in, but when it came in, it wasn't far short of the 30, 35 barrels a day it needs to wash its face. We're obviously hoping for 50 barrels a day as a relatively conservative assessment, and I'd like it to do more than that. I think with the acid wash, we stand a good chance. So I'd put that at, I personally haven't discussed this with anybody, but I'd put that at 70, 75%.

Really think MB was holding back when he said 50 or 60 bopd at H2 and Gazelle, got the feeling he is hoping for a lot more from these wells.

Some of us are thinking bigger than some numpties next trade, brain restrictions or Petro China orders apply.
