H1 Pressure spikes vs Sand production.23 May 2025 07:27
November 14th RNS alerted us to pressure spikes in our new producing H1 well, January 16th RNS alerted us to sand issue with H1, there is every possibility these early pressure spikes were the cause of the sand being produced, irregular and sudden pressure surges destabilising the sandstone reservoir, we now know these pressure spikes have sorted themselves out, not uncommon for a new oil well to behave this way, result being there was an amount of loose and weakened sandstone in H1 reservoir, this free flowed with the oil to the surface however as the pressure is now more stabilized there is every possibilty the sand issue is becoming less of a problem, this will be monitored on the surface, if this is the case then its also possible a sand screen will not be needed, its simply a case of flow /flush the loose sand through to surface at low pressure / production rate until the well self cleans this loose sand then we can slowly increase daily production without fitting a sand screen, my reasoning being i would have expected the sand screen to be fitted ASAP if sand were a real long term issue.
I really am starting to think the sand issue has sorted itself out as did the erly pressure spikes.
