Got £2600 in here based on original purchases, And up £1450 plus had cash Divis

Wondering at what to do next. Would like to hold for Divis but scared of missing out on selling high to reinvest on a dip?

If you are paid a years pay to leave part way through a year does the does the years pay add to the pay you have been accumulating each month up to release in that same tax year ?

For example you earn £50k a year , work 6 months, so £25k

Then are paid £50k to leave . Is the total taxable amount £75k?

I heard first £30k is tax free so that would leave £45k , is that whole £45k taxed at 20% or anything over £50k (inclusive of the £30k tax free) is taxed at 40%?

So that would mean 25k needing to go in pension to avoid 40% tax rate?

Luckily I only put £1500 in abdn altho I bought two bits one 200p other 150p , and my Divis reinvested low.

If you buy shares pre tax from pay , direct share scheme , do you just hold the shares 5 years to avoid the tax ?

What if you leave the business within the 5 years ? Does that impact the tax implication ?

Savage , the stock could easily fall to 110p. It may well do. This is the stock market .

But it can just as easily rocket to 200p, and I suspect it will head to that price before too long

Why do people think drahi needs to sell?

He bought 170p knowing it’s low.

Buying opportunistically at 102p would have raised suspicion.

His strategy as a foreigner to buy medium term moderate price enabled him to get authorisation from kwarteng . Long term game for him. That’s how he’s accumulated so much .

He acquires huge divis and with his stake gains great insider info and will never lose out; he said he bought for his kids.

His buying strategy isn’t like ours at pennies ..

The case is for 1 billion , but would not conclude , if in favour, anywhere near that amount

Drahi invested for the long term, his debts and or this case have no influence on his investment here.
