ffc member : accoring to CB on recennt ebinair i watched US investors held over 30% of Bur shares prior to US listing and once/if over 50% are held in the US then financial reporting will move in line with NY rules. ATB
Hi Flakey, Burford are not in the market for their own shares as they have not RNSed it, unless they are breaking the law, which i doubt. It was mooted following the MW attack last August but was not enacted, indeed i emailed Elizabeth O'Connell urging her to pass on my feelings to the board that the money would be better spent on funding more litigation cases. To her credit she replied within 24 hours saying she would. For what its worth i hold 9000 of these at an average of over £15.50 so am slightly underwater lol, though not as much as the sovereign wealth fund that took the issued extra 10% of shares at £18.50 early last year. 'Currency factors with the pound the pound the lowest in 2 years affecting returns as income is in AUS, EURO, US and UK also are pushing this down'. The weakness of the pound should be helping the bottom line not the reverse.
having reread the RNS it looks as if all they have done is to make their cash element more liquid, nothing at all to do with not looking for new opportunities, sorry for the inaccuracies in previous post.
