Well done those who averaged down!1 Feb 2026 08:27
I was delighted when these posters shared the information that they have averaged down. If I have missed any others who have done the same, my apologies.
soletraderbl1 - Averaged down from 14p to 0.85p.
Jimbolina - Bought as high as 24p in 2017, and now averaged down to 1.1p.
VikR - Averaged down
Well done you three! On 10 January 2025, I posted a note to say that I took the opportunity of the sub-0.30p share price level during last year to hugely increase my shareholding. As a result I now have LARGE shareholding at an average price below 0.30p. So, I am also in the "Averaged Down Club"!
In 2025, the share price hit a low point of 0.23p between 3 - 9 April and I repeatedly posted the message that I was averaging down. I also said, even if someone was not averaging down, the sub-0.30p level was an excellent entry price on the risk-reward scale for new investors.
Taking into consideration all the known factors at present, the key question is: Should one average down, average up, or even become a new investor at the current share price level, given the fact that there are a number of exciting news items waiting to come out in 2026? Only you can answer that question since each person’s assessment of the risk-reward balance, tolerance to risks and their financial position can be different.
I have repeatedly posted here that 80M is currently a high-risk/high-reward play. If you are looking for certainty of a successful drill that establishes the presence of a financially viable oil reserve or minerals deposit (Jameson Land and Disko), don't waste your time here. Come back after drilling and the results are published. The poster, Guly's note (31 Jan 2026 11:34 "Market dynamics 5-10x potential") succinctly presents the "market psychology" currently in play (Thank you Guly). That note is a must read. Please also take a look at the excellent article longinthetooth posted a few days ago (Thank you LITT). It was written with retail investors in mind and the words "retail investors" appears 13 times in the article (link below). Also take a look at the articles on "Averaging down" and Averaging up" (links below).
On 28 April 2025, when the share price was 0.29p, I posted a note to say I would be pleased to see the share price reach AT LEAST 1p before the end of 2025 and gave my reasons for it. Unfortunately, the share price did not reach the 1p milestone by 31 December 2025 as I was expecting, but I was chuffed when the price hit the mark on 23 January 2026 when it closed at 1.1p. The current share price is 1.24p, and I wonder where it might finish on 31 December 2026.
We are in the "Make Your Mind Up" time zone. So, good luck with your decision!
