@TripodMan, I'm pretty sure a tax liability exists if they buy below the then current SP AND when they sell at a profit. Greedy tax man. Happy to be corrected. ATB
@miker444, I do like the risers board because it pulls in buyers, not everyone does their research, their choice! Momentum buyers welcome. GLA
just top the 3p mark this week, I'd be happy enough as my average is just over this. I do believe we are in a race against time with competitors lurking in the shadows. That said, I do want FG/the team to be thorough and know this cannot be rushed. The best scenario for me is a great RNS on the 15th or 16th of this month. I've said before with the consultant's options at 5p coming into effect on 15th, any SP north of 5p creates a tax liability for them, at least here in the UK. They deserve a good deal/minimum tax liability IMO. Looking extremely positive now. GLA
@notready1, I absolutely agree, 4 x faster compared to 10, 100, or 1000? NM440 is not a threat for me, the unknown is more of a possible, I repeat, possible problem. ATB
Lots of good posts since I posted the link re NM440’s on Friday. I admit, my initial thoughts were not based around this being fake news, but it could be and after all, we are part of a highly lucrative crypto industry and the technology behind blockchain with all the applications that involves. MANIPULATION is rife! Special thanks TripodMan and Suthy - this is an extremely complex area (Quantum has been around since 1980).
For those that think FG could also be playing the manipulation game; I think not, and for the simple reason we have already filed one patent. There are no guarantees, someone might get lucky; look at all the medical applications that came about through accidents during research. The stakes are high, and I have no idea if we were to pull any part of our goals off, just where the SP will head. I love the risk/reward hence such a heavy investment here myself. GLA
@Suthy, well put, I agree 'our strategy is second to none.' Peeps, IMO, need patience and avoid the sentiment dropping and the see-saws with our SP. See-saws are for my grandkids to ride on. ATB
For me, I believe the best date for an RNS is 15/16 February and to maximise the benefits for the consultant to exercise some/all of his 5p options. It is a question, timing but dependent on the team tying up all loose ends ready to apply for the second patent. PATIENCE!
In the meantime. it is worth reading the resumé here of 2021 and where mining is headed in 2022. https://www.coindesk.com/business/2021/12/15/8-trends-that-will-shape-bitcoin-mining-in-2022/
Then we have the mind-blowing news https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20220203005835/en/Sphere-3D-to-Grow-Its-Bitcoin-Mining-Capacity-to-32-Exahash-Through-the-Purchase-of-60000-Numiner-NM440-BTC-Miners where Sphere 3D to Grow Its Bitcoin Mining Capacity to 32 Exahash Through the Purchase of 60,000 Numiner NM440 BTC Miners. They disclose a purchase price of $1.7 billion. What price will the sector pay for our technology! GLA
I’m not entirely sure why the demand/supply here is causing the drop in SP, or should I say, I don’t agree. I’ve not seen any news that changes our fundamentals. The sentiment is waning so peeps are selling. I still believe we are in the race and hope we are in the lead but also happy we have so many irons in the fire (as per my post on 1 February 2022 @ 12:01). On top of this, I am hopeful of a nice nest egg from the Sipiem Court case, albeit now later this year. As someone else posted a while back, this should provide funding for any legal challenges on the patents. Nonetheless, the market presents a buying opportunity for those that can/want to buy; I did another little top-up yesterday, funds are tight, but I already hold more than I need to make a life-changing investment for my family/me!
The RNS on 30 September advised we filed our patent application for the ASIC UltraBoost. Normally this process involves a very thorough checking to make sure the application is both applicable and no other similar product is in the pipeline, a job for the experts. I note that this announcement didn’t do much for the SP. On the other hand, the RNS on 5 November, update on FPGA and ASIC Development, did. The SP went from around 2.8p to 3.75p. While we await the second patent application, I am wondering what affect the actual granting of these patents will have on the SP - if granted. Patience is needed as the process can take at least a year and often two and a half, or more. By then, I believe we could, I stress could, have developed the planet shattering chips for the future of this technological sector. GLA
I would not expect to get news before the 5p options open on 15 February. I think they will try to avoid the price flying before then as this will increase the recipient's tax liability on any ‘gains’ i.e. if the SP is 10p when they exercise their 5p option there is a tax liability on the difference of 5p (Illustrative not predicted). Maybe the first news will be they have filed for the second patent? Patience and GLA
@Hitou, you make an interesting point "it will certainly be a decimal moving day for the sp". Maybe it will correlate, by some measure, to 10x. 100x or 1,000x faster? Definite multi-bag material IMO. ATB
Interesting that SurreyLad's post earlier today re. the 4th solo miner's success which was announced around 12:30 today, we've seen a slight increase in the SP and more buys. It suggests to me that sentiment is picking up. Wait for REAL news on QBT. GLA
@rockfordfiles, agreed it is very strange but from what I can find, the only common denominator is ckpool. There s nothing else that I have found to suggest it is down to advances in technology which is what QBT is all about. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it to be us. Nothing to cause me to think we are not ahead of the competition. ATB
@notready1, agreed. I certainly don't know of any other company that has anything like the combination of irons in this fire and none that are making the progress we seem to be. My personal view is that all four solo miners got lucky and are not even in the technology race that we are, hopefully leading. Lots of different irons in this particular fire. ATB
@rockfordfiles, a great find, thank you. Having seen reports on some of them, such as: https://cryptopotato.com/another-solo-miner-nets-215k-in-btc-using-a-mini-usb-rig/ , I am pretty sure these 4 solo miners are not QBT. The race is still on to find the technology and I am hopeful that QBT leads that race. GLA
Personally, I find QBT a very interesting investment. Some, I think see us as a play on Bitcoin. It is much, much more than that. The RNS of 18 Aug 2021 stated, “The board of Quantum Blockchain Technologies (AIM: QBT) is pleased to update the market on its Crypto Mining Research and Development (“R&D”) project, which in the first instance will be used for the deployment of a proprietary technology for more efficient cryptocurrency mining.” The keys here are ‘in the first instance’ & ‘proprietary technology.
“A number of working groups have been formed to address the key technologies at the core of QBT’s crypto mining strategy. These are:
1) Quantum Computing
2) Cryptographic Optimisation
3) Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence (“AI”)
4) FPGA / ASIC Design
5) Algebraic and Boolean Equation Reduction
6) Very Large Big Data
7) High performance computing architectures”
With or without a connection to Bitcoin, there is a race on.
“The Field Progammable Gate Arrays (“FPGA”) and Application Specific Integrated Circuit (“ASIC”) expert retained by the Company will start implementing the first set of optimisations on FPGA this month and early completed versions of the FPGA are due by the end of October 2021, while the optimisations covered by the patent being filed are due by December 2021. Based on the performance achieved by the FPGA chip, it may be decided to use it as the Company’s first mining engine. ASIC development work will start in parallel in October 2021.”
Have I missed something? As far as I know, Patent 1 has been filed but not yet approved, approval is a definite jumpstart. Patent 2 could be imminent but likewise, we need the approval.
Among the risks that I see, is whether one or both the Patents don’t get approval; I certainly do not know what any competition is working on but quantum computing has been around for years - it began in 1980.
There is a whole raft of news that we await, meanwhile the impatient sell and the SP drifts downwards. It does not mean our fundamentals have changed. With a few sole miners breaking new ground in terms of speed, from what I’ve read, it was not based on improved technology, so I assume, this is not a threat, more their good luck/fortune.
For me, 15 February is less important than the end date (15 August 2022) on the 10m options at 5p. Then we have the options at 10 starting on 6 May 2022. Can the team deliver? If they do, and the Patents are approved, what are the chances of this flying higher than ARB (18p Jan 2021 to 280 Feb 2022)? Time will tell but having invested nearly £40k here, I like the risk/reward.
Happy to be corrected factually but please DYOR. GLA
Apologies, I should never trust my memory. The 10p options kick in a little earlier - see RNS issued on 27 September.
TripodMan, spot on. These options are available (10m) from 15 February until 15 August this year, So yes, a great inventive. It’s rather hit or miss with this time frame. I hasten to add I’m hopeful having bought heavily In recent weeks, into the millions of shares.
There is a tax liability for them so they have not only to find the 5p per share but the tax on top of that. If, as you quote they go to 10p they will have a hefty tax bill on top. In any event, they stand to make an even better net profit. All depends on the timing but there are a few possibilities to send the SP to 5p before they expire on 15 August. Added to this, there a lot motor options available from 22 May 2022 to various others on the team. Fingers, and everything else, crossed. GL to the patient.
Apologies *15 February 2022!
Interesting to see what this brings and will this happen before the 5p options kick in on 5 Feb 2022?

@Plutuq, I think this is, and probably most - if not all, single-digit trades, are those done by a computer; trying to trigger a price movement. ARB has had more than its fair share over the months/years. Not entirely sure this is the case, maybe others might know for sure. ATB
