Looks like the next resistance level so could see a small pullback after the gains of the last three days or so and then look forward to another attempt at it, hopefully later on this week.

Haven't we been here before. Winter a couple of years back, profits warning, stock down a bundle only to bounce back big time a few months later !

I notice the price action over the last couple of days and the volume, even inspector Clouseau could have sussed that something was a brewing.

I did say sometime ago I'm not topping up unless the stock retreats back to the 6p level, I'm a man of my word and I've bought in again !!

What dramas ?

So nothing of any new shocks in yesterdays numbers which we didn't know beforehand. And here we are this morning back to the middle of the tight trading range which we've been in for over three months now.

All the headlines are about Brexit, advertising gloom, competition worries and even some numbnut report about ITV and BBC arriving late to the party with thier Britbox collaboration.

We know all this and so does the market, ITV shares have fallen from thier lofty levels around the £2.80 in July/August 2015 to where they are now, a fall of around 55%.

As i said,

...as we all know will be in charge today. Will they call the stock up to sell a few at a higher level with a view of buying them back tomorrow cheaper or will they call them down first thing to 'mug' a few weak holders ???

No doubt we'll get all the usual nonsense this week, Brexit fears, advertsing revenues not looking rosy, the economy heading for a recession (we're already in one !) and all the other excuses to call down the stock.

If the stock is down on results day, it will be up the following day. If its up on results day, it will be down the day after.

Easy money !

Well I said last September just before the launch of Strictly 2018 with a bunch of no-hopers, that if Simon Cowell et al didn't the ratings war back then, well it would be the final nail in the coffin. Strictly turned out to be one of the best ever, so it was just a question of when the hammer would deliver its last and final blow to the show, that lets be honest did well to last 15 years !

Doubt if a 'celebrity' version will do the trick either, its just another 'stars in thier eyes' and that was also pretty pants !

Its something to ponder about I guess but at least the market was also relieved and also the buyer of a short 3m shares after the close.

Onwards and upwards !

Some nice viewing fgures for ITV of late, even the DOI has had 6-7 million figures which astounds me but hey its attracting some nice advertising brands which bodes well.

Please can someone downgrade the stock again, I've got some more money on the sidelines ready to invest !

The clients at BAML must be really pleased with the advice the must have received yesterday and I am so glad I took up the offer to move all my pension fund money, SSAP fund etc. over to the client discretionary business over there. Yeah right !

Reminds me of Berenberk securities a few years back, advising clients to sell ITV when the price was around £1.20 then maintained a sell recommendation at £1.85 odd then around £2.20 and then when the stock hit £2.70, it became a buy of all a sudden.

I was out around £2.72 in July 2015 and then the stock just drifted downwards thereafter and I have just seen the broker recommendations on this page and Berenberk last post was in February 2018...….£2.00 HOLD !

We had the downgrade, the stock opened around the £1.32 level and then at its lowest traded at £1.26 ish and a few times today rallied to £1.30 without breaching it and for the order book to be loaded on the offer side to prevent any further upside.

So good volume and a marked increase in the number of posts on this board and a few newbies on board as well which is always a sign of something brewing.

So why the downgrade today, was it because the stock has recently bounced off the 5 year lows, was it because sterling rallied a few cents against the dollar today and off its lows or as already mentioned was it a case of the market trying to spook everyone into selling ahead of some major corporate action ?

After Tuesday's events I'm still for the latter.

I haven't been 'in' this stock over the last two years. It was my largest ever share holding after the financial crisis and then I sold out my entire holding in July 2015. I've traded it a few times on the way down since but now I'm acquiring stock like I did when I knew that Messrs Norman and Crozier were going to take over the reigns some ten years ago now.

So volume this morning already approaching 12million, which is roughly the daily average here since November with the exception of that strange movement on Tuesday.

And that's on a downgrade !!!

Ok, so another downgrade this morning. Haven't there been enough downgrades to this stock over the last few years and why was this morning's downgrade from a bailed-out institution any different from the rest of the them ?

I used to work in the city many moons ago, when some of you here were not even a twinkling in your daddies eye and when market makers were short of stock and needed to buy back their 'short' they would have a quiet word in the ear of the bank's analyst covering the stock.

The analyst would then produce some sort of 'report' citing problems around the stock and would ring one of their mates at the buisness section of one of the newpapers and would also have a word with clients to generate sell orders, effectively front-running the publication of the report.

The clients sell, the market makers get their stock and the analyst gets a nice backhander from the newspaper and also gets a nice little wager from the market makers.

I saw it time and time again and this morning has got a flavour of a 'bid' in it as the stock doesn't want to rally unlike Tuesday's action and the market is mopping up stock.
