European Metals says lithium project unaffected by Czech agreement termination
By StockMarketWire | Fri, 2nd March 2018 - 13:34
European Metals said the termination of an agreement between the company and the Czech government to explore development opportunities would not affect the company's exploration rights or tenure over its exploration permits.
European Metals said it continued to progress its Cinovec project, with ongoing metallurgical testwork, discussions with offtakers and preparations for feasibility drilling underway.
The memorandum of understanding with the government, which has now been terminated, outlined a mutual willingness to explore downstream processing opportunities, Czech academic research into lithium processing and potential future co-operation.
'The company remains entirely focused on working with all stakeholders, including the Minister of Industry of Trade and the Government of the Czech Republic, to successfully develop the Cinovec Project as a first-in-kind project that will pave the way for a successful lithium mining and processing industry in the Czech Republic,' the company said.
'We look forward to meeting with the Minister in the near term to further these discussions.'
