For those that haven't seen, a nice summary of what Tobias is capable of + his history with AMG:
Tobias Moers has been with Mercedes-AMG since 1994 and up until 1999 was tasked with project management and the supervision of various development tasks. In 1999 he assumed overall responsibility for the main production series of the AMG brand. From 2002 he became the head of full-vehicle development and was responsible for the development of all Mercedes-AMG model series. In 2011 Tobias Moers was appointed a member of the executive board under the chairmanship of Ola Källenius. In 2013 Tobias Moers himself took over the chairmanship of the board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
His technical expertise and enthusiasm for high-performance automobiles have seen Tobias Moers contribute significantly to the success of the AMG high-performance brand and to the shaping of the products over the past 24 years: For example, in 2009 he set a milestone for the Affalterbach-based company with the SLS AMG supercar, the first complete vehicle to have been developed independently by Mercedes-AMG. The second independently produced model, the Mercedes-AMG GT, followed in September 2014. This was soon to be expanded into an AMG GT family consisting of nine models. In 2018 the GT family was set to receive another new member – the GT 4-Door Coupé.
In addition to the successive portfolio expansion of the AMG models, Tobias Moers is also contributing significantly towards promoting the brand. In addition, the globally successful commitment of Mercedes-AMG in GT3 and GT4 Motorsport continues to grow steadily under his leadership and is one of the most important customer sports programs. For Tobias Moers, standstill seems to be as foreign a concept as the notion of resting on the status quo that has been reached. The latest example and a highlight in the history of the company and the career of its CEO is the first hypercar – the Mercedes-AMG ONE.

Tobias Moers, Aston Martin's recently appointed CEO, has vowed to bring success to Aston Martin much like AMG has enjoyed in the last decade.
"My ambition is to take on more responsibility, I am a strategist," Moers told German newspaper Die Welt. "I know how the big picture works and have the view for the essentials."
Moers' career with AMG stretches back to 1994, becoming CEO in 2013. He oversaw AMG's expansion into the compact segment with the likes of the A45, its first hybrid offerings, and the upcoming Formula 1-engine ONE hypercar.
Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Michael Dean said that the appointment of Moers "helps solidify Aston's relationship with Mercedes". AMG provides engines and other vital hardware to Aston Martin, while its parent company Daimler holds a five percent stake in Aston Martin.

I really believe the appointment of Tobias will be transformational for the company long-term. A leader with a proven, successful track record who will know exactly what is needed to turn the fortunes around at AML IMO. A great LT hold or the market may surprise us and make a few happy sooner than they expect :)

- Just 25 will be made for sale to well-heeled customers who are likely Bond fans

Car dealerships set to open in June, have a feeling there will be a bumper RNS on Tuesday. New CEO and dealerships re-opening, hoping to see this fly up towards 40p by the end of the week.
Further from the source, FT:
Bringing in Mr Moers as the company’s chief executive will also solidify Aston’s relationship with Mercedes, which already provides V8 engines and other technology for its cars and holds a small stake in the British business.
Running AMG, the highly profitable performance car unit of the German carmaker, has often been seen as a stepping stone to higher office within Mercedes’ parent group Daimler.
Ola Kallenius, Daimler’s chief executive, ran AMG between 2010 and 2013.
During his tenure Mr Palmer tried to diversify Aston’s line-up to widen its customer base, including launching its DBX sport utility vehicle due to come out this summer.
However in the eyes of critics the business also became distracted, stretching itself too far, such as by trying to use Aston Martin’s world-renowned brand on a range of eclectic projects from a speedboat to a Miami condominium block.
Pretty decent appointment in my view - what do we think? Unsure how the market/SP will react on Tuesday..
Breaking on the FT: Aston Martin chief to leave as part of shake-up
Mercedes executive set to take over on Tuesday, further solidifying the relationship between the two carmakers
Aston Martin’s chief executive Andy Palmer is leaving the business as part of a shake-up aimed at restoring the fortunes of the flagging carmaker, according to two people with knowledge of the move.
The luxury carmaker will name Tobias Moers, who runs the AMG performance arm of Mercedes-Benz, as his replacement in an announcement scheduled for Tuesday.
Personally, I the RNS was the best news of the day, regardless of what happens with the price (for now). Knowing the MM's, they will drop the price down, but expect this to close around 1 - 1.10p. Now that the confidence is back, financially the company is sound with a sufficient cash buffer, what's not to like? Hopefully onwards and upwards from here, be nice to hit 2p next week!
