Anyone able to get past the paywall? Any sense or just inaccurate reporting?
EZJ. But then I’m biased as I work for them. Airlines have been completely ravaged by this. With no tailored support for the industry. There a lot of guys and girls who are highly skilled individuals who have been left without a job to go to (I’m lucky to still be employed albeit furloughed). Their market has been taken away from them for over a year now. How are they supposed to survive??…
Avacta to the rescue. I’ve been backing this since April as the answer!!!
Apologies if I’ve missed a discussion on this already. Why has AS said that they’re aiming to bring it to market in Europe? Is this purely because the validation is taking place in Europe? Or is this a middle finger to the U.K. GVMT? Assuming he’s not including us in Europe…?

Wonder if it’ll have us on it’s radar...
On the ITV local news (Meridian) just now.
Regarding in school testing and the negative press surrounding innova being only 50% “effective”. GAME CHANGER test in trials
There’s been a trial in Southampton involving saliva LFTs that are up to 95% “effective”.

I also note that Chris has recently liked this on LinkedIn. Posted by Lisa mansell of BBI:
Last week saw me mark a year since joining BBI Solutions, and what a year it was! I expected to be very busy when I joined but never envisaged the scale of work as a result of COVID-19.
I am thankful to work in an industry that continues to grow. I take great pleasure in talking to new companies and learning about their diagnostic plans, and hopefully being part of the life cycle that sees them through to product launch and beyond.
This year also marks 20 years since I entered the world of lateral flow diagnostics, as a development scientist working on saliva based assays. I have spent most of my career explaining to people what a lateral flow test is, never would I have thought that this technology would be daily news. A well designed test, when used in the right setting, can really make a difference to how we manage our health and wellbeing
The fact that AVA6000 wasn’t mentioned in the interview with Giles yesterday made me wonder if a AVA6000 RNS was coming today. Is this also a good omen for BAMS news to drop today/tomorrow considering it wasn’t mentioned either? Probably a bit speculative...
Telegraph article, nothing new however.

I have a theory surrounding the perceived delay to the tests. I note the number of times Dr Smith has used commercial sensitivity as a reason not to say how well the various tests are performing. It may be a long shot but I strongly believe the initial analysis of the tests has produced such strong results that it would be foolish of them not to refine and tweak the tests to finalise the products such that they completely blow the competition out of the water. Look at what has happened with Innova and Sona. I’m sure we could’ve released a test back in the summer; but why not get it right first time and trounce the competition. I’d rather be in it for the long run rather than making a quick buck. Just my opinion and best guess.
What does everyone make of IDH and their RNS this morning. CE marked with good s and s! Although collection method picks your brains out. Could this have been the curve ball uk (sovereign) manufactured test? No mention of production capacity though.
Anyone heard of “confirm testing”?
