It can't be too long to wait now. I wonder if Polvsen or Ashley will go to 30% and make a bid. Maybe one of them or both have contacted Barker, perhaps that was the reason for him buying before the closed period. The MM's can muck around with their 10p movements but it wouldn't be outlandish to see this treble as I doubt the BOD would entertain offers sub £10.
Apparently Trendyol were the interested party with an offer of circa £1Bn which would have valued the company in the region of £10 -12. I think they should have let the market know even if it was to give the hedge funds a thrashing.
The best way to grow a company in the long term is to imagine it's a private company. It allows the CEO and his team to focus on growing a business in the longterm not just pleasing the city with growing quarters etc. This will come good, in the meantime it's best to ignore all the guff from the naysayers. They are here for a reason, it's not for your benefit but theirs.
Having done a sterling job with the CityAM and Biossance acquisitions I wonder what will be up their sleeves next. Perhaps Musicmagpie as they have a history in selling CD's. They could probably pick it up for below £20m.
It would probably be a good time to snap up a few company's whilst they are going for a song. They seem to be keeping the available money for something as they haven't engaged in a share buyback.
I don't think it would have harmed though to buy back a few especially when they went ridiculously low. Well let's hope they use the funds efficiently with the drill on the gold projects. I'm rather eager to see what we have.
I particularly like this;
“You’ve got the entire resources of the THG tech team at your disposal. It’s huge, it’s groundbreaking for City AM.”
Owen added: “The great thing about being part of a £2bn company is we have both the enthusiasm from the leadership and management to invest and grow, but also a little bit of headway, like a bit of runway to be able to do that.
£2Bn, perhaps he knows something we don't. :)
It's great to see DARK hit 400 today. MW and qube shorted this down to 200. Not so clever hey boys... They clearly don't understand the technology and scope here too. Never mind they will learn soon enough.
So if it is correlated as you say and if the spod price went up to the levels last seen in November which is quite probable, at what price do you think Kod will go to considering the potential of 50mt. Surely it will break the 1p barrier and build on up from there.
Don't forget this is not just about lithium as KOD has 5 potential gold projects and the metal is flying at the moment. Does anybody have any updated information when we could possibly get the drilling results?
There is a huge variance between the share price and the value of the company. Hainan will know better than anyone else what KOD is worth but what they are willing or want to pay is another matter. Canaccord 's last valuation was 1.85p back in mid November admittedly the lithium price has fallen since then but I can see it rising above that price when Kodal are in production. We should be getting a few resource updates and if we get to 50mt or above this will increase the value. The gold price has been increasing and any positive news on the gold projects is another catalyst to drive the valuation higher.
Unless Hainan offer a fair price I can't see Bernard or shareholders accepting as KOD has a bright future. I don't think its outlandish for Kod's price to increase to over 3p in the coming years. So why would shareholders want to sell for 1p or thereabouts now.
While they are at it couldn't they get rid of their investor relations team as they don't seem to want to engage with private shareholders. If they only respond to institutions surely the company secretary could carry out this role.
It seems quite ironic that Fosun are increasing their investment in Hainan but Hainan aren't increasing in KOD at these very low prices. With the latest presentation and hopefully bottoming lithium prices KOD should rise. I doubt Bernard would recommend shareholders to accept an offer unless it represented a fair value, 1.5p at the very least.
