(Alliance News) - W Resources PLC said Monday its new concentrator plant at its La Parrilla project in Spain has seen its first iron ore feed.
"Over the last month, an extensive programme of automated systems installation and commissioning was completed on the concentrator plant," the miner explained.
W Resources also noted the commissioning of the flotation, magnetic and electrostatic separators at La Parrilla has begun - which is expected to be completed in the "coming weeks".
Chair Michael Masterman said: "Very significant progress has been made over the last month in commissioning the new La Parrilla concentrator plant, with commissioning of the final phase nearing completion. It is great to see the concentrator plant start-up on ore for production at our flagship project. Upstream the mine and plant are ready and a stockpile of upgraded jigged feed is in place."
Shares in W Resources closed 2.0% lower in London on Monday at 0.37 pence.
