Total Produce Buys Half Of Canada Produce Company Gambles Group

LONDON (Alliance News) - Fresh produce company Total Produce PLC on Tuesday said it has acquired a 50% stake in Canada-based produce company Gambles Group.

Total Produce did not provide any financial details on the deal, but said Gambles posted CAD170 million in sales in 2014.

"We are very pleased to become shareholders in the Gambles Group. This transaction further broadens our North American operations. We look forward to working with the excellent people in Gambles over the coming years," said Total Produce Chairman Carl McCann.

Shares in Total Produce were untraded on Tuesday, having last traded at 76.50 pence.
