(Alliance News) - The British government on Monday ordered schools and non-essential shops in Leicester, central England, to close and urged people to stay at home after a localised outbreak of coronavirus.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said nationwide moves to ease a three-month lockdown would no longer apply in the city due to high rates of Covid-19, telling parliament: "We must control this virus. We must keep people safe."
