Spinnaker Opportunities enlarges investment focus to include cannabis industry

(Sharecast News) - Spinnaker Opportunities told investors on Tuesday that the board had decided to enlarge its strategic focus to include the analysis of opportunities in the cannabis processing industry.Following a period of intensive discussions, Spinnaker chose to shift some of its investment focus from the energy and industrial sectors to cannabis processing after opportunities afforded to it by the recent legalisation of the substance in several US states.Spinnaker was confident of "numerous attractive, near-term investment opportunities" within both private and public businesses undertaking legal cannabis processing.The AIM-listed cash shell also revealed that it was currently engaged in due diligence of an unnamed company involved in the extraction and wholesaling of high purity Cannabidiol oils from industrial hemp for clients.As of 1040 BST, Spinnaker shares had climbed 4.90% to 5.04p.
