Sound Energy shares rise as TE-5 Horst commissioning activities start

(Alliance News) - Sound Energy PLC on Monday said first gas has entered the gathering system at the TE-5 Horst development project, as initial commissioning activities kickstart.

Shares in Sound Energy rose 12% to 0.98 pence on Monday afternoon in London.

The transition energy-focused business, with development projects in Morocco, said the gas was "safely and successfully" flowed from the TE-6 production well, commencing the commissioning of the gas gathering system in preparation for long-term production.

Sound Energy has a 20% equity interest in the Tendrara production concession, where TE-5 Horst is located.

The company said construction of the micro-liquefied natural gas plant continues at the site. It added that revenue generating liquefied natural gas sales are forecast to commence late in the first quarter or the second quarter of 2026.

"We are pleased that we have reached another milestone to bring gas to Moroccan industrial consumers and congratulate the operator, Mana Energy Ltd. I look forward to full commissioning of the micro-LNG facility and delivery of sales gas in the coming months," said Chief Executive Majid Shafiq.

"We are entering an exciting period at Sound Energy as we become a revenue generating company, whilst progressing to the FID for the second phase of development of the entire field, to supply Moroccan power markets."
