Road maintenance contractor May Gurney's trading for the first half of the year has been in line with expectations with the forward order book in excess of £1.25bn and likely to rise with the formally signing of recently announced new contract wins and extensions.Oxford Instruments has been selected to supply an additional 9 tonnes of superconducting wire to ITER at a value of approximately £5m. The order is in addition to a £30m order for 58 tonnes of superconducting wire announced in July from Fusion for Energy, the European procurement agency for ITER. Server based gaming specialist Inspired Gaming said its contract with Irish bookmaking firm Paddy Power has been renewed and extended by four years. The extension follows a three-year partnership in which gaming machine income at the bookmakers' Irish and UK outlets rose by 81%. Commercial distribution specialist SDI Group said its customers are continuing to postpone ordering decisions though the level of enquiries remains strong.The group expects revenue and profit to be in line with market expectations for the six months ended 30 September 2009.Velti, a leading provider of software platforms, appointed Wilson Cheung as its chief financial officer and said it has raised around £2.9m through a placing.
