SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: AO World slide continues; Esken up again

Tue, 05th Jul 2022 10:18

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Tuesday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Esken Ltd, up 12% at 9.59 pence, 12-month range 8.42p-26.35p. Shares in the aviation and renewable energy company look set to register a third successive daily rise after recent volatility. Shares are down roughly 10% over the past month, however, with the stock hit by recent disruption at airports. Esken owns Southend Airport, located roughly 40 miles from the centre of London.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

AO World PLC, down 15% at 47.40p, 12-month range 46.35p-250.00p. The stock falls again after tumbling 18% on Monday. AO had confirmed in a statement on Monday that it was aware that one of the third-party credit insurers which provides credit insurance to some of its suppliers had rebased their cover in May with respect to AO, reflecting post-Covid sales levels. It followed a report in the Sunday Times which stated that Atradius, a credit insurer, cut its credit cover for the online retailer's suppliers.

----------

Schroder UK Public Private Trust PLC, down 3.7% at 21.10p, 12-month range 20.65p-37.07p. The investment trust tracks recent weakness in Oxford Nanopore Technologies PLC, one of its largest holdings. Prior to Tuesday, Oxford Nanopore shares fell in five sessions on-the-bounce, losing roughly 15% of its value in the process. The stock is up 4.2% on Tuesday, mounting somewhat of a recovery.
