SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Fuller's, Gym Group bounce; Avon struggles

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Tuesday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC, up 5.3% at 752.00 pence, 12-month range 580.00p-977.73p. The London-based pub and hotel company rises as markets are optimistic that the emergence and spread of the Omicron variant will not lead to the imposition of stringent lockdowns. Young & Co's Brewery was up 1.5%.

Gym Group PLC, up 3.6% at 263.65 pence, 12-month range 197.18p-317.50p. The low cost gym chain operator is also benefiting from optimism in regard to the Covid-19 situation. Gym Group's estate previously has been hit by lockdown measures.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

Avon Protection PLC, down 2.4% at 1,094.00p, 12-month range 860.00p-3,665.00p. The firm, which makes respiratory protection equipment for use by military, police, industrial and fire service personnel, continues its recent share price slide. Tuesday looks set to be the third successive trading day of share price decline.
